The house is surrounded by a garden on one side, and on the other side you will find Ventas Street which is the central street passing through Skrunda. It will take you just a 3 minutes walk to reach the riverbank of Venta. We recommend a summer morning or evening walk or bike ride along the riverbanks of Venta! The house is located in the middle of central Skrunda, yet it's so close to the countryside, that you will get the best of the two worlds. Skrunda is a small town, perfectly situated in the middle of the Courland if you want to explore the region. The house has a very interesting history and the apartment you are about to rent is our way of generating income to preserve the house for the next generations. The house was built 1933 by current owners great grandmother Lize and her husband Janis. Lize and Janis worked hard to save the money and build this house that was meant to be their source of income when they became old, as they planned to rent a part of the house. After the II World War it was confiscated by the Sovjets. Janis and Lize never got to live in the house that they had built. The house was returned Lizes daughter, current owners grandmother Elvira, only 1994 after the fall of Soviet Union, long after Lize and Janis had passed away. Elvira lived not far from her childhood town. Screams until 98 years of age and was happy to see the house finally getting renovated.
