Welcome to the Moody Cure house! First floor: King bedroom, Queen suite bedroom with three season private cure porch, and renovated full bath with shower. Plus dedicated office/infrared sauna room. Upstairs are a king bedroom, a twin/trundle bedroom, and second bathroom. Set up for the weekend warriors, adventurous family, or work-from-home crew. Grab your hiking boots, skis, or book and head out to the high peaks region of the Adirondacks! The space Built in 1914, The Moody Cure was born as a boarding house of sorts... for those with tuberculosis seeking clean mountain air. Knowing this, you will spot many hidden vestiges of the past. One unmistakable feature is the three season front porch with built in window-on-rail system. This porch was designed to bring the "cure" of the outdoor air into your lungs and spirit. We hope it does the same for you. NOTE: we pay for plow service to plow the driveway. We leave shovels for your use. Bring boots and plan for weather. Thank you for understanding the balance of independence and service! Guest access If headed to Lake Placid, it's close by and an easy drive - 3 roads and 13 minutes away by car. Mt Baker Trailhead is a half mile away for a 1.8 mile medium difficulty hike with a view. More casual hiking is even closer in The Pines trail. Walk, bike or drive the other direction the same half mile distance and you are downtown exploring the riverwalk, restaurants, and other attractions. We love the indoor carousel, Saranac Lake Museum, and grabbing fresh to-go meals at Nori's. Bitters & Bones is a go-to for any night premium pub food, or The Boathouse for something special with a view. Bring your smile when you walk on the Moody Pond loop. This neighborhood has wistful feeling and frequent pedestrian traffic. Park in the driveway and be sure not to block the shared driveway. Other things to note There is an infrared sauna onsite for guest use! The heat is set at 170F but can be adjusted for comfort. Complimentary snow shoes and kayak with paddles is available for use. You must have transportation for the kayak. It is a 2 person kayak (fits in my Kia Telluride with the back hanging out of the trunk; truck transportation preferred). Please use these complimentary amenities with respect, clean after use and replace where found.
