Empire village has plenty of character but fewer crowds. This home is a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located getaway for all that Leelanau Peninsula has to offer. The space Nestled in the heart of Empire Village, our cottage offers a convenient and comfortable location to all that Leelanau Peninsula has to offer away from the hustle and bustle of other 'Up North' towns. Walk to downtown Empire to enjoy shops featuring local artists. Eat at local cafes and restaurants featuring local produce and wines. Drive north on M-22 to nearby towns of Glen Arbor, Glen Haven, Leland, North Port, & Suttons Bay. Swim, sunbathe or boat at Empire Beach (6 minute walk from our cottage!) or venture to nearby South Bar Lake, North Bar Lake, Glen Lakes, or Lake Leelanau. Local wineries & farms offer tours and tastings for wine enthusiasts & foodies. Chocolate lovers will love Empire's very own 'The Grocer's Daughter' for all the decadent and award winning chocolate. Artists and photographers alike can find endless inspiration around the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Parks, local art galleries, shops, and the Glen Arbor Arts Center. This area is famous for its miles of paved bike trails and marked hiking trails, so be sure to bring your bike! Rock hounds can search for Petoskey Stones, Leland Blues, and Frankfort Green stones at nearby beaches. Play basketball, baseball, or tennis in Empire's parks. Kids enjoy playing at the Lion's Club Park just one block west of our cottage or the playground at the beach. Great Room: Our great room features plenty of comfortable seating areas for everyone to read, lounge, watch TV, or nap! Family and children's board and card games are provided. Bedrooms: Our cottage has two bedrooms, each appointed with comfortable linens, blankets, and pillows. A trundle bed is located under the bottom bunk. The love seat in the bunk room unfolds to a twin bed. Closets, dressers, and luggage racks are available to help you settle in. Drying racks for your towels are stored in each bedroom closet. Washer and dryer are located in the basement in case you need to do a quick load. Bathroom: The bathroom features a shower and tub combination. Toiletries can be conveniently stored in our custom made cabinets with pull out drawers for easy access. Kitchen & food: We provide the essential cooking elements for you to prepare meals in case you decide to eat in. A charcoal grill and grilling utensils are available. Enjoy meals in at our 6 person dining table or out on the back deck. Basic spices, oil, vinegar, coffee, tea, sugar, and honey are provided. Technology: Bedside table lamps in the master bedroom have USB ports to charge your electronics. WiFi information is available and information is provided with check-in materials. Roku is available for you to stream your shows and movies from your own Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. accounts. Outdoors: Enjoy the pleasant "Up North" weather from our back deck, screened-in porch, or spacious yard. Adirondack chairs and yard games are provided for your use. Bring your hammocks and relax under the pines in our yard. We have an apple tree in our backyard that is frequented by deer. At night, roast marshmallows and create memories around our fire pit. Empire has a village baseball diamond located near the recycling facility. One block west of our house is a local park and playground complete with tennis courts and outdoor grills and pavilion. A short six minute walk from our house will take you to Empire Beach. An all-terrain collapsible wagon is provided for you to transport your beach gear. Guest access Our cottage is within short walking distance of the heart of Empire Village and Empire Beach. Parking is only available within our driveway. Private check-in is available. Check-in code will be given morning of check in. Other things to note Please read the entire listing. For the health and safety of our family, neighbors, and other guests, this is a smoke/vape-free and pet free property. No parties. 6 person max overnight guests. You may not bring additional guests or allow additional guests to camp on our property. We ask that you do not bring recreational vehicles (ATVs, RVs, dirt bikes) and no firearms to this property. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood and want to honor our neighbors and maintain a good relationship with them.
