A birdwatcher's paradise with ducks, cardinals, woodpeckers, herons and more. Abundant other wildlife including deer, fox, turkeys and others make appearances. Turtles line up on fallen logs. A morning chorus of bird songs and Spring/Summer evening frog chatter. The wildlife changes with the seasons but even in the winter there are usually lots of mallards, cardinals and deer and an occasional fox or other animal. We are most interested in hosting families with children or groups of adults looking for a unique accommodation preferring a beautiful natural setting in a very convenient location. Our property is not for groups looking to party and make a lot of noise. If you have young children, who would enjoy seeing wildlife in a natural setting, this is a great place to bring them. It is amazing how these children just want to go outside for hours and explore the pond and property. I grew up in Queens watching Wild Kingdom on TV and reading about animals all the time. Had I moved to a property like this at 7 or 8 years old I would have thought I went to heaven. Guests have become engaged on our scenic back bridge. Other guests, including a college professor who takes his students to national parks in the western U.S., have raved about the wildlife and the setting. The house includes a very large main living area with three bedrooms and 2½ baths. The large main living area includes a huge, modern kitchen with a Wolf gas range, a second Electrolux Electric oven, a Bosch dishwasher, two refrigerators (one in the nearby laundry room), an additional wine refrigerator, built-in microwave, and two large sinks. The rest of the main living area includes a huge leather sectional with a large TV, theater quality sound and a pool table. There is a wonderful eight seat bar for small gatherings and a separate TV. Additionally, there is a large dining table and yet another seating area and WFH workspace by the fully functioning fireplace. The house is equipped with 1GBPS WiFi and and the TVs come with an AppleTV ready for you to stream your favorite shows or to have movie night with the family. The Primary Bedroom has a King Bed, large bath w/huge double shower and double vanity. One guest room has a Queen bed with separate bathroom. The third bedroom has a Queen bed and a full/twin bunk bed and trundle. This bedroom uses the extra large powder room in the main living area. The house sleeps 6 adults easily and that is the max allowed. Exceptions for additional small children using the twin/full bunk and trundle will be considered. A pack and play crib is provided so you have one less thing to pack. The price is based upon 6 adults. The property includes a scenic pond, two streams (one is a registered trout stream, Mistucky Creek), a waterfall, a private path around the pond with two bridges, mature plantings, abundant wildlife and seasonal mountain views. The water source is Warwick Village’s reservoir system (The Times Herald Record referred to it as one of the cleanest streams in Orange County). There are two patios with seating by the waterfall and a large patio off the kitchen which includes a grill, a dining area and a firepit to stay warm on cooler nights. There is also a pondside bench with a great view of what's going on in the pond. The owner developed the property into a private wildlife sanctuary over the past 30+ years. We always wanted to share the property with those who enjoy special, unusual places. We built a birdwatchers paradise with mallards, fishing birds, cardinals, woodpeckers, swallows and many more species. Turtles, frogs, toads, muskrats and other typical pond animals enjoy life by the pond. Deer, fox, rabbits, woodchucks, and other mammals live on and/or frequent the property. Bass, trout, sunfish, catfish and other fish swim in the streams and pond. Birds sing in the morning and frogs and others chatter in the evening. Please feel free to walk the property. Please watch and listen but don’t disturb the wildlife. The house is a very large ranch on a large property. In addition to the Airbnb listing there is an apartment which may or may not be rented during your stay. We also may be on site in another living area within the house. Please take advantage of the convenience of the property where you can walk to fine restaurants three to six blocks away, a wonderful children's park with all kinds of climbing/playing equipment two blocks away or quickly drive to nearby attractions like Heaven Hill Farm, Bellvale Creamery (best farm ice cream), Warwick Valley Winery, Numerous Breweries, Mt. Peter Skiing very close nearby and Legoland and Mountain Creek Ski Resort within about 15 minutes. Most of all please enjoy your stay. Take a five minute, beautiful walk across two bridges around the pond. There is an inlet from the south coming from Warwick's reservoirs and a waterfall by the front of the pond which then runs north off the property. The walk is beautiful in the spring when the trees, shrubs and flowers are blooming and in the fall when the leaves are changing. In the winter, after a snowfall, the property looks like a winter wonderland and in the summer it is very green and the most wildlife is visible. After a heavy rain the waterfall can expand from eight feet to thirty feet wide! We will provide a guestbook with more information. The house is yours to enjoy. with the exception of the two apartments, garage and outdoor shed. Please note the homeowner is sometimes onsite in the apartment to the left of the home and a tenant lives on the right side of the home. please be respectful to your neighbors. Other things to note This is not a party venue. It is a peaceful, serene, spacious escape from busy everyday life. We don't want people sleeping on our couches, blasting music and getting wasted and damaging our property. We want to provide you with a clean, healthy environment. We only allow 6 guests at the property, additional guests are not permitted. No loud noise or music is allowed from 10pm through 7am and guests need to be responsible at other times. Guests who attempt to bring more than 6 people without prior approval will be asked to leave without any refund. Please text/call to negotiate weekly or longer rates! No smoking allowed inside or outside on the property. No pets allowed, Please. We have friendly dogs and are sometimes on the property.
