Tandem Trails will open our 2025 season on April 1, with new and exciting availability. We, the hosts, are moving out, taking Tandem Trails from a "Shared" to "Private" space. We are keeping the listing as-is through May 1st, inviting up to 3 people lodging for the month of April. We will be in our camper during April bookings. We are building a home 3 doors down and are just unsure when we will be handed the keys to our new home. As the transition takes place, look for more details. The space Our century home, now known as Tandem Trails, was built in 1886 and sits two blocks from the quaint downtown with many restaurants and novelty shops for your pleasure. We have lived in and loved this home for 20 years, making updates and renovations, always with the thoughts of sharing our home and it's charm with others. When our daughter married in 2018, we decided to make her room into a Guestroom and list with AirBnB. That being said, this is our residence. (until the 2025 season...then it will be purely AirBnB) The Guestroom: is on the second floor, as is the guest bathroom. It is not en suite. It is down the hallway. The guestroom has a queen bed, and a pull-out twin bed. We can also provide a pack-n-play for a n infant/toddler. Due to the room footprint, the pull- out twin and pack-n-play cannot both be used at the same time. There is a desk, if you would like to bring a laptop. WIFI is available. This guestroom does not occupy another family resident. The closet and drawers are solely for guests. The bedroom door has a key lock for guest privacy and room security. Other spaces in the home: The living room and dining room are available to guests to have a comfortable seat in between your other activities. The kitchen is not available to guests, however there is a kitchenette in the guestroom with access to fridge and coffee maker. (Our home-owners insurance requests guests not use the kitchen for liability purposes). Tandem Trails LOVES to cater to cyclists traveling through Canal Fulton. My husband teaches indoor cycling. We are members of the Akron and Stark County Bike Clubs, and avid supporters of our trails. We offer cyclists our garage for their bikes during their stay. There would be ample room to work on a repair or dry out gear, as one car will usually be gone. Cleanliness and safety: The guestroom and guest bath are cleaned and sanitized in between each and every booking. Guest access Guests will arrive at Tandem Trails and park in the gravel driveway created to our car-driving guests. Cycling guests will have the garage code and be able to store your bikes. You will walk to the front porch where you will enter the home. Days before arrival, the hosts will send you a message through AirBnB to give you instructions regarding guest access to the FRONT door. You will enter through our dining room and immediately see the stairs to the second floor where guest accommodations are. You may use the dining room or living room for relaxing or having a take-out meal. Snacks have been provided in the Guestroom as well as a coffee maker. There is a refrigerator for restaurant leftovers or small food items such as yogurt/fruit for breakfast that you bring or purchase. There is no microwave. Meal preparation cannot take place by guests in the home. You are welcome to bring a take-out order to the patio or dining table. We encourage you to take a 2 block stroll into town and enjoy any of our fine eateries! Other things to note If you are booking for a 3rd party, we ask that the actual guests be able to look at the listing and that the hosts have an opportunity to speak directly to them. We understand not everyone uses the internet and bookings may be created by friends/family not staying in the room. However, we want each of our guests to have a full understanding of our accommodations and make sure that the actual guest is well-suited for our space. For instance, our accommodations are on the 2nd floor of a century home and we have a standard tub, not a walk-in shower. This space would not be appropriate for a person with mobility limitations. We want every guest to have their very best experience at Tandem Trails.
