A great home base for taking advantage of all Talkeetna has to offer, or as a quiet retreat from the world in your own private environment. There's a new queen bed on the main floor along with the bathroom, and a second queen plus a twin in the loft bedroom. Lake views from dining and living areas plus a spacious covered front porch overlooking the lake. Large kitchen has full-size range/oven and frig, grill outside, ample parking. Convenient yet quiet and private location a mile from main road. The space A large entry area off a covered porch (with a few stairs) is your access to the Red Sled cabin. The back portion of the cabin is a large well-equipped kitchen with views out to the lake. Off the kitchen you'll find a stack washer/dryer unit, counter to fold clothing on, and the bath with shower. To the front of the entry is the large open area with a new queen bed (with 14" memory foam mattress), dining table that can seat 6 comfortably. A comfortable leather couch and club chair provide a cozy area for conversation or watching the 40" tv screen. Large windows provide beautiful views of the lake, and you can step out the front door to enjoy a large covered porch with several rockers and stationary chairs. Go up the stairs to access the second queen bed and twin bed in the loft which is open to below. Light and airy, the loft is easily tall enough to stand and move around in with a second ceiling fan in case you're too warm. Listening to the call of the loons that typically raise young on the lake each summer is simply magical, whether you are sleeping on the main floor or up in the loft. In winter guests have enjoyed the aurora borealis from the warmth of the indoors or for better views stepping out onto the porch. Guest access This cabin is on two acres of woods with great views of the lake (there is a steep undeveloped slope down to the lake, so access is not provided). Enjoy this very private location, so convenient to the main road (Talkeetna Spur). Other things to note The lakefront itself on this property is undeveloped (there is not a dock or easy way to access the lake itself).
