Mahoney Manor
My father executed his vision and built Mahoney Manor from the ground up. What started as a "camp" eventually became his full-time home before his untimely death in 2018. Nestled in the woods at the base of Ira Mountain just minutes from Sugarloaf and along the Carrabassett River, Emmett created a sanctuary. He spent the last years of his life "developing" two empty lots into a Zen-like nature trail system with hand made bridges and benches perfect for 4-season walking or snowshoeing. The space Far more than your typical cabin, Mahoney Manor is both quaint and state of the art. By making the most of every available space, Emmett created a home that is functional for up to 8 guests but comfortable for 2-4 as well. Fully stocked with linens and towels, as well as some kitchen essentials, this is the perfect location for your next trip to the Sugarloaf area. Not only will you find world class downhill skiing, the winter is also full of snowmobile trails, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. In the summer months you can spend time fly fishing, kayaking and hiking throughout the region or golfing at Sugarloaf. The master bedroom is located on the main floor with another large bedroom in the loft. There are plenty of spots to find some privacy as well as an open and airy common living area. Well behaved pets are welcome, and there's an extra large dog crate in the basement if you need to borrow it (Please let us know if you plan to bring pets so we can plan accordingly.) If you are traveling with small children or you want to keep your pets downstairs, we have provided a baby gate for safety. It's never easy to remember every single thing you need to cook. Our pantry is stocked with many "essential" items. High speed wi-fi is available and you can sign into your own Netflix or Roku on two of the three TV's (Please note: there is NO cable TV.) If you don't want to burn wood for warmth there's forced air with oil heat throughout. Guest access Whole house, with some locked "owner's closets" on site. Other things to note We are pet friendly, but would really appreciate guests letting us know if they are traveling with any 4-legged friends. This will help us plan accordingly.
