Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart! The space Along with the house of the owner, this is the only cabin on this property. Guests have access to the sauna (separate from the cabin and next to the lake) which includes a hot water shower. The cabin which has only cold water includes a kitchen (with a refrigerator, cooking surface, convection oven, microwave oven, griddle, coffee and hot pot) as well as a toilet. The cabin is located over 150' feet away from where you will park and we provide a wagon to help move luggage.
