The space Narrogate is a charming 50 acre farm in the beautiful Virginia Highlands. Relax in the Blue Ridge Mountains as you are surrounded by modern comforts presented in an old-fashioned style that's sure to help you slow down and step back in time. Enjoy the sunset from the covered deck while you fix your supper on the convenient gas grill. Fish for trout in Burkes Fork Creek, hike the fields and mountain trails, drive the winding roads through the mountains and wake to the quaintness of the soft sounds of cows bells and sweet bird songs as the predictable night fog gives way to the eager morning sun. Narrogate Farm offers a comfortable ground-floor apartment (aka daylight basement), complete with your own ole-timey kitchen. You'll feel at home with your sleeping arrngements which consist of a private bedroom, a full bath, a shared sleeping space with two single beds and a child sized bunk bed tucked into a whimsical sleeping cabinet. A cozy den provides a social area that can double as a private room with a queen sized futon. We will observe “upstairs quiet time” after 9:00, since our living quarters are upstairs. Convenient parking for several vehicles is located adjacent to your own private entrance. Grass-fed beef, pastured pork, fresh farm eggs, and whatever produce is in season are all grown on or near our small family farm . Cows, kayaking, hiking, shooting, golfing, picnicking by the creek, and heaps of other adventures are available both on and off the property. After 20+ years roughing it in Alaska, A.T. & Christy Wiggins bought 50 acres an built Narrogate as a family home and a show-piece for A.T.'s woodworking and Christy's interior decorating. A.T. continues to build custom furniture, cabinetry and bespoke pieces in wood, stone and iron in the onsite workshops for select valued clients who quickly become fast friends. A month long tour of America, Canada and the UK, living in various hotels, homes, and Bed & Breakfasts convinced the Wigginses to offer their own special brand of hospitality to new friends on the wild world web through awesome (URL HIDDEN) vast and wonderful client base. Guest access The whole ground floor/daylight basement facing the south west view out of the back of the house is a comfortable and private ground floor apartment. There is a complete kitchen, a bath room with a tub/shower, and three separate sleeping areas with a double, a queen futon, and two twin beds. We can also easily accommodate three small children in additional comfy child sized beds. During your stay Oh, we interact about as much or as little as you need us to. We live upstairs, so we're here, but you have your own space. Other things to note You will notice by our description and profile of amenities that breakfast is not part of what you pay for, however we do stock the kitchen and refrigerator so our guests have farm fresh eggs, our own farm raised sausage or bacon, and other breakfast necessities.
