The Cabin of Troy
Retreat and relax in this off-grid, hand built cabin in the quiet town of Troy, Maine. Enjoy the perfect combination of open field and forest along with direct access to a vast trail network perfect for biking or hiking. With beautiful views and no light pollution, this cabin is the ideal place to enjoy the natural beauty of Maine's great outdoors. Located midway between Portland and Bar Harbor and only 25 minutes to Belfast. Make this your gateway to Maine's midcoast. The space The cabin is open concept with the first floor combining kitchen, dinning room, and living room. There is a private bathroom with a composting toilet (don't worry, it's easy to use and there is no smell). The upstairs has two small bedrooms with privacy curtains, and a master bedroom that is open to the second floor. There is also a futon and fold out couch downstairs that can be used for sleeping. There is an outdoor shower and bathtub with hot water. Guest access The cabin is part of a 10 acre plot so there is plenty of space to roam around. Behind the cabin, there are trails that lead to another large field. This is owned by the neighbors, but they have granted access to this space providing it is treated respectfully. Also, the road is part of an ATV/Snowmobile network of trails which you also have access to. Located 25 miles from the beautiful coastal city of Belfast, you're never too far away from endless activities. Other things to note While there is running water (safe to drink), there is no indoor hot water at this time. So this is somewhat of a "glamping" experience. Not exactly roughing it, but not fully equipped as a regular household either. Please plan accordingly. *There is no Wifi, but great cell service.
