Welcome to our Basalt Estate. We live on a secluded road in the seven castles community and you will be in complete Colorado wilderness and privacy. However our internet is fast :) One of our favorite amenities about our property is that we have a private hiking trail right in our backyard that is a 4 mile round trip hike to waterfalls. Aspen and Snowmass is about 30-45 min away. Downtown Basalt where you can find restaurants, gas and coffee shops is a 12 minute drive down the frying pan. The space This property is very unique as it looks right at the seven castles of Basalt, CO. We often get big horn sheep and deer right in our front yard. In the winter: Please book a 4WD or AWD vehicle it is a requirement in order to get to our house. Please expect ICY conditions and be prepared to drive in the snow. If you do not feel comfortable driving in the snow then please do not book our house. Please keep DOORS closed or use the screens on appropriate doors. Flies will get in and other creatures. Guest access We have a hiking trail in our backyard. Follow the rail ties to the steps and you’ll get access right to the trail. It’s about 2.5 miles round trip to the end of the trail and then if you want to go an additional 4.5 miles round trip you can continue down a steep hill and follow the creek bed up to the seven castle waterfall. Other things to note There is no garage - all cars will be parked outside - DO NOT PARK ON THE LAWN it's the septic. If you park on the lawn and cause damage to the septic we will need to take out a claim. You will need 4 wheel or AWD drive for our property. Expect icy and snow conditions in the winter. If you do not feel comfortable driving in the snow please do not book our property. We maintain the road and plow but you may experience ice still. We get bugs. It’s Colorado mountains. Pets - please be mindful of pets on the furniture. Also we have a black dog that will visit our front yard daily. He’s the neighborhood watch dog and has been here for years. Dogs are not allowed on furniture and must stay in the mudroom if you leave them unattended as we have had many dogs destroy our furniture. 2 dogs are allowed for an additional $125 for your stay. If you have more than 2 dogs please ask us. The only chore of staying at this property is I ask if you clean up your dog poop. Dogs are not allowed upstairs due to the carpet and are not allowed to sleep on the beds. Please supervise your dogs outside as the neighbors have dogs as well. There is no SMOKING in the house - its $900 a room to professionally clean the room to get smoke taint out of it. This includes e-cigarettes, vaping, weed, any form of smoke. This should be common sense but there are NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED. NO SHOOTING GUNS We have neighbors so please be respectful.
