Welcome to our cottage in the woods! We hope to cultivate a relaxing space for a getaway with friends or family. Our home is your home for a weekend, a week, or even several months. Use it as your personal retreat or home base for exploring the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires. The space Our home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It can comfortably sleep 8. Perfect for two families enjoying a weekend away or a group of friends meeting up for a reunion! Upstairs there are two bedrooms featuring queen beds. One bedroom has a TV with Apple TV set up. You can watch Hulu & Netflix or Airplay from your laptop. Both bedrooms have plenty of closet space to store or hang your belongings. If you need to prepare for a night out there's an iron, ironing board, and lint roller. The upstairs bathroom features toiletries for your use, as well as a hairdryer. The downstairs bedroom has two bunk beds perfect for children or adults! Additionally, there are many hooks to store your gear on after a day of hiking or skiing. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking essentials and useful small appliances (stove, microwave, toaster, blender/food processor, dishwasher, coffee-maker, electric kettle, Kitchen-Aid mixer) as well as coffee or tea for you to enjoy in the morning. You can find all your grocery needs at the Price Chopper supermarket, just fifteen minutes away. For specialty foods and local goods, head to the Chatham Real Food Market Co-op in town. The patio features a picnic table, as well as two chairs. Perfect for sipping your morning coffee or enjoying a meal with friends. You can also relax and listen to nature from the hammock. Sit around the fire pit and chat with your friends. Take your meal or games out to the gazebo and enjoy listening to nature. There is no shortage of ways to enjoy the beauty surrounding you! Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cottage. There is plenty of parking! You will need to drive to most destinations. Other things to note While our home has excellent high-speed Wifi perfect for working, Zooming, or researching local spots, you will need to turn on Wifi calling on your phone if you need to make a call. There is very limited cell service for a couple of miles in each direction, so make sure to pop your destination into your GPS before heading out. Once in town, the cell service is excellent. During the winter months, there can be power outages in the area. We do not have a generator at this time. We provide flashlights and firewood, but without power you will likely not have cell service. Luckily, within a few minutes drive you are back within cellular range. Typically the power is resolved within a few hours and we are sure to remain in contact with any outage alerts.
