Located in Downtown Staunton, in the Newtown Historic District, our house is close to shopping, dining, art and antiques galleries. Count on walking distance proximity to everything, including the American Shakespeare Center, Mary Baldwin University and Stuart Hall School. What we're offering is an ambiance like no other in Staunton, in a neighborhood of diverse architectural character and historic interest. Visitors who appreciate a design sensibility will find our house particularly appealing. The space Dubbed the Penthouse Suite, our accommodation offers 600 sq. ft. of living space that includes unusual architectural features as well as brilliant natural light. Because it is on the third floor, at treetop level, expect complete privacy and amazing views in three directions. One guest commented, "It's like waking up in an art gallery." While the aesthetic appeal is a strong feature, comfort is equally important. Expect luxury linens, a superlative mattress, plus plenty of pillows and two focused reading lights for reading in bed. The en suite bath is similarly appointed, particularly with regard to adequate lighting at face level over the sink. Plenty of storage, too, including two closets, an antique chest of drawers, and luggage racks. Guest access Entry to our Airbnb space is via the front door of the house, then up the main staircase to the third floor. Guests interested in historic restoration may request a tour the rest of the house. The also are invited to enjoy the garden terrace when in the mood for serenity, or the front porch, a great place for people watching. The Staunton Music Festival in early August holds the majority of its evening concerts in Trinity Church, directly across the street. Other things to note We ask that shoes be left just inside the front door or in the hallway just outside the guest space.
