River to Sea is a unique and exquisite riverfront home in Monte Rio --- situated on the bank of the peaceful Russian River, perched amongst towering redwoods, and just 11 miles drive to the coast. Our home is a log cabin....wooden walls within and without in every room. Earthy, warm and fitted with everything you'll need for an incredible river vacation --- comfort, serenity, sunshine, places to gather, swim, cook, and truly rejuvenate. No pets, no exceptions. Absolutely no smoking inside! The space The huge upstairs of this authentic log cabin has everything you need --- sofas, a stone fireplace, and a wall of windows overlooking the beautiful yard and the river below. The open floor plan allows offers views from the kitchen, the dining room, and the deck that spans the width of the home. The two bedrooms, bathrooms, and rec room are all located down the hallway from the great room. Both bedrooms have comfortable, organic mattresses and linens. The Master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom is located just down the hall from the second bedroom. Both bathrooms have been remodeled. At the end of the hall, you will find a fabulous, multi-purpose rec room. It has a sleeping loft (2 Full-sized beds) accessible by built-in ladder (not meant for small children), one built in bed (Queen), as well as an L-shaped leather couch and a wall-mounted TV. This is always the favorite area for kids, teens, and anyone wanting to relax with a movie or a game. Below the main level, you will find a covered, flagstone patio that has an outdoor dining table, bbq, and an enormous luxury hot tub. The patio is great rain or shine, since the roof is covered, and a great place to enjoy an evening meal or wine hour. Beyond that, you'll see the yard, sun deck, and permanent stairs leading down to the dock. Our dock is permanent and is there year round. Nothing is better than jumping off the dock and cooling off in the River. A few houses down you will find the infamous rope swing, great fishing spots all along the river, and calm, smooth waters to paddleboard. Guest access You will have access to the entire house with the exception of two locked owner's closets. Other things to note We have two paddle boards and paddles that you are welcome to borrow year-round. From late October through March, our canoe and kayaks are stored away and cannot be used due to high water levels. The rest of the year, guests are welcome to use our watercraft. We have life jackets in all sizes, if needed.
