Our cabin is a quiet getaway, in a small neighborhood behind the Famous Mayhill Cafe on Hwy 82. It's a small 1 bedroom with a extra sofa sleeper and futon in the living room. We have a BIG covered deck, with pleasant views and outdoor living space for outdoor dining and BBQ. Mayhill is a cool escape from the summer heat down the mountain. We're 17 miles from Cloudcroft and about one hour from Artesia, a little farther to Carlsbad and Roswell. This is a prime hunting area for Elk, Deer, Turkey. The space Our cabin is a quiet little getaway from the heat and hustle of the city. It is tranquil and peaceful and surrounded by wildlife. Whether you like to watch or hunt the wildlife, you will not be disappointed. We are in a perfect setting to view the night skies, a stargazers paradise. There is no air or light pollution so there are clear skies. Many astronomers live in the area for this reason. We are right in the middle of Section 34 and prime hunting for Deer, Elk, Turkey, Mountain Lion and Bear. Although we only have one bedroom, we have a huge deck for outdoor living and a sofa bed and futon for extra guests. We have a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Make the pines of Mayhill your home away from home. Our place can be a little hard to find for the first time so take note of the directions. From Cloudcroft, go 17 miles east on HWY 82, go past the Mayhill Cafe and the gas pumps, then make a sharp left on S Pine, follow it up past the fire station and follow the loop up to Juniper and take a right. The road turns to a dirt road and it looks like two driveways, take the right fork, we are the third house on the right on Juniper. This is the last house on the road, turn right down the driveway, there are are a number of parking spots. When you exit the property, go out through the alley and turn right, this will take you back to s Pine. turn left to return to the highway. We have 10 mbps wifi, the fastest available speed in the area, we do not have cable, but you can enjoy netflix on our flat screen tv. The internet code is posted on the TV. We had a guest comment that there is "junk" on a property en route to our cabin. One of the alluring things about New Mexico, is that we live and let live. One man's Junk is another man's treasure. Our cabin is at the end of the road, and all you see from our cabin is trees and mountains,a very pleasant view and peaceful environment. Our cabin is the least expensive Airbnb rental in the area. It is clean, quiet getaway, not a 5 star hotel. Guest access the whole cabin is yours to use and enjoy. Take advantage of our lending library, sit back in the rocking chair and enjoy a good book and a strong cup of coffee. Other things to note we are close to the Lincoln National Forest, Rio Penasco and the quiet village of Mayhill. We have a fully stocked kitchen and a gas grill for your use if you want to cook at home, but the famous Mayhill cafe is just a down the street. Try their good honest cooking, you will not be disappointed.
