Fox Hill: A modern lakefront getaway
Relax in the Finger Lakes directly on Cayuga Lake in a bright, renovated cottage that nods to mid-century design. The home is ideal for 4 but can accommodate up to 6 people: great for couples traveling together or small families. Conveniently located at the north end of the Cayuga Wine Trail, with an abundance of wineries (+distilleries & cideries) within 30 mi. If you feel like staying close, there is a bar & grill within walking distance, and a state park with boat launch just up the road. The space You will be renting the entire house from us so make yourself at home! Put on some music, play video games, or grill and lounge on the back deck. There will be an empty dresser or two in each room for your use. We do live part-time in the house and keep our own things on the premises, so some storage areas will contain our belongings. Please be respectful. Equipment: Each bathroom has a shower stall (not a tub) with rain shower. We will provide clean towels and sheets; Please bring your own beach towels. There is a washer and dryer on premises if you need to launder bath towels mid-way through your stay or want to do a load of clothes. The kitchen is well-equipped for any basic needs. The coffee maker is standard, not a Keurig, so you can bring your favorite grounds, or of course pick something up at a local grocery store. The living room is equipped with a 65" TV for movie nights and a record player, all set up through in-ceiling surround sound speakers. We have had some damage done to our record collection, so please if you are unfamiliar with how to use them, we'd appreciate if you use the receiver's convenient bluetooth connection for streaming your personal audio instead. The back patio has seating, a dining table and a weber charcoal grill, so don't forget the charcoal! Please make sure to pull the grill out from under the house overhang and place it on the rubber mat provided. There is a fire pit in the front yard so you can enjoy a small outdoor fire with a view of the lake. We have wood on premises you may use, but if you are going to use a lot please consider restocking some from one of the many roadside stands nearby. Accessibility: The home is ranch-style, so there are no stairs inside. There is a step up to the front porch and door, and two steps off the rear deck. The lakefront is about 200 feet down the driveway. It is not a treacherous hill, but is a decent climb for the elderly. There is a parking spot at the bottom of the driveway if you need to drive. Please be aware: The house and lake frontage are separated by the street, so please keep an eye on kiddos (or just yourself!). It is a 25 mph residential street with limited traffic, but busyness can pick up in the summer months. Guest access Parking: There is plenty of room for up to 3 cars, and should be enough room to back in a boat trailer. Boating: We will have a dock out during summer months so that you can tie up a small or medium-sized boat. We do not currently have a boat lift.
