These Units and the cabin outside seem "always a work in progress." A shared space kind of place if the upstairs is rented too- noisy at times. A little redundancy about the whole cabin, but more info: Three units description follows: The Eagle Feather Room is upstairs Unit has a queen Avacado bed alongside a 7 foot window- the sunrise room, plus a long single floor mattress. The double futon is in the middle, upstairs kitchenette. (It is in the winter time, a warm and cozy spot when the Ashley wood stove is burning downstairs under it.) Next to the D futon is the ladder to the Cupula room overlooking Eastern Maine to the Coast and the field below where the Eagles Fly and food can grow. The "Downstair's Unit or the cabin's middle room is the wood stove room. In it has a twin pullout bed too. It is winter insulated with barn board decor. There an entrance door. Note another door into the North side Rannit Hole Unit, is not rented. It is the Owners sound proof apartment she uses with it's it's separate entrance. She runs the wood stove. The 3rd Unit or "front Hawk Room " is the downstair's kitchen and couch/chair area which is easy access while outside or downstairs for anyone to use. It also has a (resting spot) single sleeping couch, and four big windows looking out to the South East side forests, decks plus the roadside door leading out to the West side porch for BBQ. The non rentable cabin's backside 3rd unit is referred to as the "Rabbit Hole Room." It has a Double bed, kitchenette, door into The Skye room with it's loft bed, 2windows and private entrance door opening onto the North East side porch for another BBQ. When Trudy stays at the cabin: she is in the quite soundproof, Rabbit Hole/Sky room area with her own private entrance. If you want her to do pre arranged cooking, she can do that down in the Rabbit Hole's quarters, separated from you all, who are in the other two sections of the cabin. If cold, she initially runs the wood stove in the downstair's middle room where the twin pull out, optional 5th bed is located. Guests have privacy upstairs and down in the front Hawk room. This is a unique, funky ole cabin away from your daily grind. It is a Unique space in South Central Maine! A quiet space, without much outside noise- (no car radios playing without headphones, please). The only sounds are of birds, woods, critters, farming, projects and other dudes temporarily playing with their deep woods toys..down in the valley or up on the mountain sometimes with their fat bikes bicycles or other vehicles to drive up. "Sweet place to chill!!! " as my son Ryan says. But it is not a party house or Recreational Drug/drinking environment. It is more of a sober house type place with those kinds of folks around.. in and out. Guest access Guest has the South side, downstairs with the Central cabin's woodstove, room ....plus use of the shared, front studio Kitchen room. Guest can crash on the kitchen's couch or has access to 1 pull out couch bed in wood stove room. Guest can heat foods on 1 gas cooking top of stove. Paper plates etc, all cookware and utensils are provided. Also shared... 1 sink for dishes, grills both wood and gas, firepit, field, trails and parking (in season only.) are available. Trudy runs the woodstove day and night up till guest's bedtime..and anyone shared ...can enjoy sitting in the room with the wood stove heat if ok with guest. It is a rustic, cabin ..a very cluttered, cozy (fun and different) kind of 52 year old cabin space. Everyone here are outdoor kind of people. But also like to sit by the fire in the cabin too. During your stay I greet my guests...Guest and myself need to orient my guest to their new and unfamiliar surroundings. I answer questions related to their plans. Cultural matters are always important to communicate about. I absolutely love to have guests! I am totally respectful of guests PRIVACY.. and expect the same. However, we are in a cabin and the systems of operation are important to have my guidance so that sanitation and safely needs are met. Then you are on your own to enjoy sporting The Mountain's roads, woods, and trails. Other things to note This a great place to Hike, ride to on horseback, ATV etc., Fat Bike, Mountain Bike, Motorcycle, or ski, snowshoe, snowmobile when in season. This is a four season cabin rental.
