Gateway to Adventure
NO CLEANING FEE, NOON CHECKOUT! Your personal adventure basecamp is located only 6 min south of downtown Price and miles away from the daily hustle bustle. This peaceful 1250 sq ft, 3 bed country hideaway has a beautiful outdoor space and newly updated high speed “work-from-home” internet. The Gateway is located behind our home on 5 acres of land and adjacent to State Land for recreation. Only 1h 45m from Arches NP. An affordable alternative to Moab. The space We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and recognize what we believe to be the most important qualities for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation space. We have tried to duplicate those same qualities here. First and foremost, it must be CLEAN and UPDATED. In addition we want it to be BRIGHT, with plenty of light, except when we are trying to sleep, then we want blackout curtains. PRIVATE, QUIET, and SPACIOUS. Last, but not least, GOOD BEDS! A lot of time and research went into the purchase of the beds and pillows. (An air mattress is available upon request. Please let us know if you need it and we will have it set up for your arrival.) We have also added beautiful artistic images by a local ‘dark sky photographer’ for your viewing pleasure. Bistro lights adorn the interior for that relaxed summer evening feel, even if it’s too cold to be outside. It’s a wonderful experience to relax after a long day of adventure under the glow of the soft golden lights. Guest access The entire building space is open to guests. We kindly ask that the back door not be used other than in times when an emergency exit is needed. We also ask that guests not venture into the backyard of our home unless invited. There are 2 backyard ponds which could pose as a drowning hazard to small children. You are welcome to park anywhere in the gravel parking area in front of the guest house. Access to the State Land is down the driveway and through the adjacent gate. This area is perfect for hiking, biking and 4 wheeling. It is extremely private. Good chance you will be the only people out there. Other things to note There are chickens on the property that you may hear, from time to time, or they may occasionally be free ranging around the grounds. Because of this you may also find fresh eggs in your fridge in the summer time. Also, we generally keep one to two roosters to protect the flock and keep chicken life going. We ask that the guests close the curtains and shades at night, in the fall and winter, to retain the heat. We also ask that you not adjust the thermostat. The building has radiant floor heat and it takes hours for the temperature to change. We try to keep the space around 71 degrees. If this is too cool for you, you may want a light jacket to be comfortable.
