Welcome to the Author’s Cottage! Located on the scenic Route 64, our home is across the street from the classic fine dining restaurant "On the Verandah" which sits on the beautiful Lake Sequoia. Our cottage is ideal for those who want to be close to town with a quick 3 minute drive to Main Street, but also only 1 mile away from Dry Falls, and many other surrounding hiking trails and waterfalls to choose from. We LOVE to welcome responsible dog owners. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate cats. The space Why the "Author's Cottage"? Atracted by the picturesque surroundings, the published author Edmond Geanta came here to finish one of his books. He and his wife, Andreea fell in love with the house and decided to buy it. That’s how the house got its name. They hope you’ll find it as charming as they did, and wish you a pleasant stay and a glorious escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. Space: The cottage has two charming bedrooms and two bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom has a King Bed, a smart TV, and a detached full bathroom. The upstairs suite has a King Bed, 2 Twin Beds, a smart TV, and an en suite full bathroom. Our layout works well for a small group of friends, two couples, or small families. Amenities: Our space is a place to rest, relax, and reset from your busy life. This cozy cottage provides all the comforts of home with 3 Smart TVs, Nest Thermostats, Gas Stove, Full-Size Fridge and Dishwasher, Kitchen Tools, a 1-button Gas Fireplace, full size washer and dryer, and a patio table with a 3 burner gas grill. Location: We are very close to town. At 1.5 miles away it takes less than 5 minutes to get to Main street which has dozens of high quality shops and restaurants as well as seasonal festivals and concerts. Safety: We have a circle driveway. Please pull forward onto the street and avoid backing out as the curved roads in Highlands create blindspots. Please don't leave trash or food outside overnight. There are 2 bear-proof trash cans provided for your use. Pets: Since our daughter who is allergic to cats uses the cottage often, we are sorry to inform you that we do not allow cats in our cottage. Other things to note Due to rebranding, all the wonderful reviews received under former management are not attached to the new listing. However, we’d like to assure our clients that the new owners will maintain the same standards of comfort as before.
