1840's Mid-Coast Barn
This 200 year old New England barn is a rustic, open space with a living, dining, kitchen, sun room and work area downstairs, and an open loft and exercise area upstairs. A large garage door opens on one side and a smaller back door opens into the fenced in dog yard. If you love an adventure, historic charm and camping without the tent, this experience is for you! The space Thanks for your interest in our barn! PLEASE READ THE DETAILS. We have tried to be as accurate as possible, because we want you to be prepared and comfortable during your stay. The kitchen area is equipped with basic amenities like a coffee maker, refrigerator, hot plate, toaster oven and electric kettle. There is a full bathroom in the main house, which is accessed through the private basement door just across the fenced in yard. The large utility sink in the laundry room can be used for doing dishes. The barn is not insulated (no heat or AC), so is best suited for Spring and Fall months. It warms up nicely during the day and cools down overnight, so mornings are when there might be a chill in the air. We provide plenty of blankets, but encourage guests to bring extra layers..slippers, hats, etc. Both beds (1 king, 1 queen) in the loft are equipped with warm down comforters and the king has a mosquito net just in case, although we've had very few insects. We've enjoyed the space ourselves on many summer evenings with the doors wide open. This is a unique space without the frills, but loaded with character. Step outside into the landscaped yard and enjoy the fire pit, play a game of corn hole or take a stroll in nearby Singing Meadows Preserve. Or pull up a stool at the bar, enjoy a Maine beer and watch a movie. Although we welcome older children, the space is not safe for young kids. Dogs are welcome and can enjoy the fenced-in back yard.
