The only Fayetteville listing that is surrounded on 3 sides by the New River Gorge National Park, and the Arrowhead Bike Trails. The 70,000 acre backyard is ideal for mountain bikers, hikers, bird watchers, trail runners, rock climbers, kayakers, and anyone who enjoys peace and quiet. Park your car, ride single track trails from the house. Kayakers will be half way between the put in and take out for the New River. Secluded feeling, yet Fayetteville is only 3 miles away via trail or car. The space Make yourself at home in this spacious, unpretentious 4 bedroom, two bathroom space. The house is kid friendly, with room to spread out and be comfortable, and covered porches for relaxing and play, even if it is rainy. Cozy built in beds are a treat for kids and grownups too. A large kitchen is perfect for cooking with friends and family. Feel free to ride your bike all the way up and onto the porch. The house is 3 miles from town. If you are looking for an in town experience, this will not be the listing for you. If you want to feel like you are in the middle of almost nowhere, if you want to be able to walk out the door, lace up your shoes and head out by foot or bike, look no further, you have found your place. Quiet, peaceful home surrounded by woods adjacent to the New River Gorge National River, powered by solar panels which are grid tied, the house is a green oasis. A short drive, or challenging ride on single track mountain bike trails, to historic Fayetteville, WV, this house is centrally located for all the Gorge has to offer, yet feels secluded. The house is perfect for families. There is plenty of room for kids to play inside, out on the 1,000 sq ft of covered porches, or out in the 70,000 acres of the New River Gorge, which is only a few feet off of the back deck. Behind the house, there is a fire circle to enjoy a bonfire under the stars. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, large living room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms, sheets, blankets, towels. Please note, there is no TV, so if this is something that is important to you, understand that this house does not have a television. There is fast WiFi. Watch birds, including a nesting pair of hawks, and deer from the house or the porch, kick back and relax in one of the hammocks. Enjoy breakfast on one of the covered porches that run the length of the house front and back. The Arrowhead Trails come almost to the property line. Access 14 miles of prime single track as well as walk to climbing areas, a small creek, cascading waterfalls, historic sites and gorge overlooks without ever getting into your car. The location is half way between the put in and take out of the New River, so it is a great spot to stay if you are going on the river. Please note, the house is in the woods. Chances are, you will see insects occasionally in the house, especially if people don't remember to close the door all of the way. Outdoors, there will be quite a few insects, especially since I have planted plants specifically to attract pollinators which include bees, moths, butterflies, beetles, dragonflies. All of the insects are part of the vibrant environment surrounding the house. If you are an insectiphobe, or prefer a perfectly sterile environment, this house will not be a good fit for you. Children under age 5 don't need to be included in the guest total when you book. Kids love the house, as there is plenty of room to sprawl out. It's a very kid friendly place. Pleas note that there is an additional charge of $25 per person per night for each guest over four. Absolutely no parties. Please do not make it awkward for both of us. My house is on the grounds. I will know because I live next door. You will be asked to leave if you are having a party. Fayetteville is listed as a historic town. It is a cute little town with great restaurants, antique shops and a beautiful courthouse. Guest access Full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. There are some staples in the kitchen for your convenience. Generous porches with outdoor seating for eating and relaxing, hammock under the back deck. Feel free to park your bikes on the porch. There is a hose available to clean off bikes on the side of the house. There are miles of trails that are adjacent to the property. Other things to note Be considerate of the peace of the neighborhood and not be noisy after 10 pm. I encourage everyone who stays to be as green as possible. There will be no disposable paper towels, as I provide cloth napkins, dishtowels and cloth rags for the spills and messes. If you are fond of paper towels, please feel free to bring some along. There is a compost bucket for any organic waste as there is not a disposal in the sink. The house is on a septic system, so absolutely nothing can be flushed down the toilet except regular toilet paper. Yes, toilet paper is provided. Absolutely no wipes, feminine products in the toilets.
