Known for it's natural beauty, visiting Eleuthera is like stepping back in time. No fast food, no casinos, and limited infrastructure. However, Gregory Town is located just 2 miles away with everything you'll need! Before going into a detailed description we want to share some things we often get asked about. The villa does have wifi. We have an attached optional apartment/Mother in law suite that sleeps 2 more if needed (new queen bed) and can be used in conjunction with the main house. We DO NOT rent the apartment to another family during your stay for privacy. We also use Chris for a discounted SUV rental rate for our customers. What you pay will be negotiated with Chris. His contact is in our planner. The roads in Eleuthera are poor, bumpy and dark, but that is part of the island experience. We prefer no pets but special exceptions can be made. Also note that there are some boardwalk style platform steps you need to walk up to get to the villa from the driveway. Eleuthera Villa is a fantastic, elevated beach setting with stunning vistas. One vacationing family described it as “Something out of the movie Castaway in the South Pacific,” and we couldn't have said it better. Most people do not realize the Fiji-style elevations in some parts of the island, and our property boasts several stunning, elevated views. There is a really cool private Gilligan's Island type tropical trail that snakes its way through the lush foliage down to the beach. There is also a private little bench sitting area that literally hangs over the ocean. Couple that with a stunning vantage point and a world class beach located right at the property, and you have one of the premier rentals on Eleuthera. Nowhere on the entire island (or any Bahamian island) is there such a breathtaking vista as what we have. Most people walk up on to our upper deck for the first time and just stand there in awe for a few moments before realizing the rare beauty of the place. The different shades of color in the ocean you see from our deck are truly mesmerizing and seem more like a painting than real life. The upper deck is our favorite spot for sunrise coffee and sunset cocktails- the views are just stunning. If you are into Yoga there may be no better place on Earth than our upper deck to do your thing. We have extra mats available. The villa was completed in early 2017. The main house has four bedrooms (one bedroom is a loft) with one king bed in each bedroom and two queen beds in the loft. Plus there is an optional air conditioned apartment/mother in law suite below the main floor with one queen bed which brings the property total to 4 bedrooms. (2 kings and 3 queen beds if you include the loft. Due to cleaning costs we ask that if you need the extra apartment space please let us know in advance. You will find beautiful craftsmanship and wood work with nautical ceiling fans and 16 foot high open-beam vaulted ceilings throughout. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a large, open-style kitchen is that well equipped for cooking at home. There is a stone outdoor grill for your fresh fish, conch and lobsters. There is a dining table and center island bar area for seating eight people. Each bedroom features comfortable King and queen beds with excellent new mattresses. Our living room furniture consists of 2 full sized couches, chairs and a coffee table all in a tasteful, island-style decor. The villa is bright and open and because of the elevation it gets great trade winds which means cools temperatures at night and fewer insects. Each room hosts a great view whether it be the aquamarine shades of the ocean to the east or the deep green hillside to the west with its magnificent sunsets. We have multiple furnished decks to enjoy. Most decks are open to the sun but two are covered if you'd like to get some shade. Our deck space adds up to a combined 1000 square feet. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water for rinsing off after a beach day or bathing under the stars at night if you choose. One of the unique things about the villa is that our property borders a government-owned nature preserve. It is filled with lush foliage, birds and wildlife. At quiet times of the day you can listen to the music of numerous bird species talking to each other. You also get to see both amazing sunrises and sunsets from the property due to the elevation and its position. The setting is very peaceful, private and unique in sense that we have the jungle and the beach in the same place! We also have a separate guest cottage called the the Surf Cottage. It has it's own driveway and is separated by woods and fence from the main Villa. If you wish to inquire about renting that out in conjunction with the main Villa just ask. The Surf Cottage is a separate listing. We are located just 2 miles away from Gregory Town and 3 from Hatchet Bay with lots to do- from restaurants and bars to adventure trips and exploring caves. Gregory Town also offers the essentials you may need such as grocery stores, gas stations, liquor stores, etc. The beaches in this part of the island are numerous, stunning and usually empty. We are conveniently located between the North Eleuthera and Governor's Harbor airports (each about 15-25 minutes away). Rental SUV can be arranged waiting for you at the airport when you arrive to make things easy and to save on a taxi expense once you contact a vehicle rental company. Once booked, we email an extensive trip planner to answer questions and a list of contacts which include rental vehicle contacts, seafood contacts etc. We have a rental contract that needs to be signed and returned to us prior to your arrival. If you have any questions about that please ask. It is pretty standard stuff such as, no parties, no pets, no smoking, keep the house clean and orderly, do your own dishes etc. Very rarely do we have any concerns from our guests in regards to the rental contract. UPDATE: We have installed a gate at the top of the stairs on the loft. We also added a full size portable crib, baby chair top and dome tent for the young ones. Guest access Private driveway to the villa with onsite parking. Other things to note Eleuthera Villa and the attached apartment/MIL suite below are the main living structures of the property. It is located way up the main driveway about 300 feet from the road along the top of the ridge line over looking the ocean. We have an optional apartment/MIL suite that sleeps 2 people (new queen bed) that can be used if needed along with the main house. We have a guest cottage (The Surf Cottage) which is a separate rental with its own driveway and own private entry which can also be rented with the main house for larger groups. The Surf Cottage is set down lower on the property nestled into the jungle. The cottage and villa are completely separate and have their own driveways and boardwalk entrances. The guest cottage has it's own trail to the beach which connects to the main trail. We have one neighbor to our north and no immediate neighbors to the west or south. The ocean is to the east. Guests can access the internet and info will be found in the trip planner sent to you after you book. We do highly recommend getting an international day plan with your carrier for cell use. AT&T charges $10-$15/day and each additional member on the plan plays 50% of that. We have Starlink Wifi. Our general area has lots of neat things to do such as snorkeling, diving, fishing, surfing, kayaking, bars, restaurants, tons of beaches, a blue hole, caves and other adventures and landmarks.
