Welcome to our mountain retreat in Altos del Maria! It's like staying in a national park without crowds, perfect for couples & solo travelers. The peaceful setting caters well to socially distant breaks. Our guests love eating on the private terrace facing Mount Picacho - keep an eye out for toucans and mono titi monkeys. We're only a 5-minute walk from the Rio Maria River Trail with its waterfalls and natural swimming holes. A short drive leads to Valle Bonito Cloud Forest. The space Once you have entered your private gate and parked in your own carport, take the short covered ramp up to your terrace with its bistro table and your front door. A spacious 550 sq ft (60 sq meter) and practical one bedroom ground floor apartment awaits you with its bright living room and kitchenette. All windows and doors are screened to let in the fresh mountain air. For added comfort, there are also ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. The bedroom boasts a queen size bed and ample drawers in the dresser and chest of drawers. You will find a shower, basic toiletries, towels and a hairdryer in the bathroom. Guest access In your private covered mosaic patio, you can have a snack, swing in the hammocks and hear the water flowing in the brook below most of the year. Meander down the stairs to the bridge and then enjoy your private garden and different views of Cerro Picacho and surrounding valley on the way back up. Other things to note We are about 90 minutes from Tocumen International Airport. There are no grocery stores or gas stations here. All services are a 40 minute drive away in Coronado. When arriving from Panama City, many people stop at Costa Verde for a few groceries.
