The River's Edge partial but private
From camping to glamping...The River's Edge B & B LLC is setting on the edge of the scenic Illinois River, where wildlife, rafting, kayaking, hiking and fishing abound. Watch the sun rise over the mountain or tour the historic Cherokee stomping grounds. There's something for everyone! This partial-house private apt includes 2 bedrooms and a sleeper sofa, which sleep 8, is family-oriented and is in a neighborhood. When renting, no other reservations are accepted. Min 2 days, 3holidays. The space This property is now being offered as a full-house rental as well as a partial. There will NOT be others staying while you stay and is 1 small pet friendly. However, there is a $100 non-refundable pet fee. Please keep them off furniture. Please ask if you have a question. The Full-House rental is seen as a separate listing. This partial house rental has 2 large downstairs bedrooms but we are now offering it as a 1 bedroom for a smaller cost. You will have to message me for the rate. It has a private renovated garage entrance which constitutes your kitchen/dining area and also has a sleeper sofa. Bedroom 1 is large and overlooks the river and has a comfy king, table and chairs and lovely library. Room 2 has a double and a queen and is stocked w games and movies. The hot tub, grill, patio area are all just outside the entrance in the back where the river view dominates in the winter and plays peek-a-boo in the summer. The garage has been converted into a living/kitchen area with the sufficient space to cook, eat and hang out as a group. See amenities to see what additional items are offered in the kitchen but note that there isn’t a full-sized stove but multiple ways to cook, including the outside charcoal grill, electric skillet, 2-burner hotplate, griddle, crock pot, microwave and toaster oven (which will do most things). This is a partial-house listing and is family oriented in a neighborhood, therefore please read the rules. I don't want to mislead anyone to thinking it is anything else. There is no direct river access on the premises, but there is access in several public points and I have purchased use of a beach 1.7 miles up the road. Details on entry table. Guest access The space has a private entrance from the garage area and you have privacy within that part of the house as it is separated by a locked barn door from the rest. You have a lot of private parking in that area as well as your grill, patio furniture and hot tub with lovely (partially seasonal) river views. You have your own full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, crock pot, toaster, toaster oven, griddle, electric skillet, 2 burner hot plate, dishes and flatware. Wifi and tv’s w movies. There is a "no parties" policy which doesn't mean you can't drink. It means being responsible and using common sense. Only the (up to 6) guests included in the reservation may sleep, bathe or use the hot tub. Additional guests must be preapproved and pay an additional fee. There is a sleeper sofa for this purpose. Disregard could void your reservation. If there is an extenuating circumstance or situation you'd like to discuss, please let me know. Due to the many festivals and events along the river, this house rule was necessary. Ask if you have a question. Also, this has been my home but when it is rented, I stay elsewhere. You have total privacy. If I must be on the property during your stay, I will message you. During your stay I am available, sometimes on site but do not wish to interfere in my guest's privacy or stay. I would be happy to supply you with directions to local spots of interest. Just ask. There are winter water views and summer peek-a-boo views from The River's Edge B & B LLC, but access is via public parks like No Head Hollow (just north) and Echota (south) as well as many others. And, I recently purchased use of a neighboring private beach. Specifics upon your arrival. Other things to note The road to The River's Edge winds around Sparrow Hawk Mountain and is abundant with wildlife. Please be especially careful around dusk and dawn and watch for deer. The road is paved until you get to the top (where main photo was taken at 7:00 am), then goes to dirt. Once near the bottom, it is paved again and winds around to the Illinois River. The house sets near the edge of a bluff so no young children. Bedroom 1 has a king bed with a lovely library. You are welcome to read anything, but please leave on the bed-side table. The other bedroom has board games and movies available. Enter via the converted garage to the private apartment-like housing which is the 2 large bedrooms, both overlooking the river, kitchenette and bath with 2 separate sinks. It is closed off from the rest of the property via a locked barn door. Also, things to remember: We are several miles from a store. Keep that in mind for shopping/food/trash bags. If floating, laws state: no glass or styrofoam, no tying rafts together, no alcoholic spirits. Please take a trash bag with you and use it. All land is owned by someone and they appreciate my guests staying within the confines of this property. There is 'No Trespassing' beyond the bluff or past my fenced-in garden. However, there are several public access points, many raft, canoe and kayak rental businesses (closest are Riverbend, The Outfitters, Diamondhead, Falcon Floats) and usually live music every Saturday during the summer, somewhere on the river. Additionally, please use hot tub with clean feet and body. It has to be drained if used otherwise because it becomes cloudy and you will be charged. Additionally, if overloaded, water will be displaced which could cause damage to the motor. Please make sure water level stays above the skimmer/jets. What to bring: water/river shoes ( lots of rocks here) Hiking shoes if you want to hike (and bug spray) hat sunscreen/aloe coverup-you probably will burn sunglasses swim suit Bag chair for river Ice-chest snacks/beverages/food/charcoal and lighter paper plates and disposable items, River towels/floaties/toys.
