The Cottage at Wabi-Sabi
This private, cozy cottage is perched on a hillside offering mountain and pastoral views to the west, with a private, custom waterfall bath and queen bed. There are 5 acres of mountain and sea views, extensive Japanese gardens, ponds, fir and cedar groves. This is a peaceful place for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets). National Forest and Park trails are ten minutes away. The space The cottage is set on a hillside with beautiful westward views of the Olympic mountains. The setting is private and quiet, with guest access to the extensive gardens, ponds and water features. The cottage is about 250 square feet including the private bath. One entire wall of the cottage is glass with private views and a deck that wraps around. Inside there are warm wood floors and a custom bath that features a waterfall shower with stone from the local river. The cottage has cedar shingles and a metal roof, and is well insulated for heating and cooling. I have recently added a kitchen with a two electric burner stove top, deep sink, waist-high fridge with freezer and microwave for my guests convenience and added independence. While individual guests and couples have found the cottage to have more than sufficient space, if you are considering bringing your dog, you may want to review again for space considerations. I've hosted a number of dogs large and small but I did have one guest who found this an issue with her large pet dog. Guest access The cottage sits apart from the main residence and has a private access and parking area. The cottage literally sits amidst the Douglas Fir, cedar and maple trees. While the cottage sits a short distance apart from the main house. Other things to note This area is rich in natural beauty and the cottage is literally a 10 minute drive to National Park and Forest trails, as well as kayaking and canoeing. The town of Quilcene, while small, offers excellent food and dining. The quaint and historic town of Port Townsend is a half hour drive away offering excellent food, shopping, breweries and vineyards.
