Peaceful + Cozy Farmhouse Near Jay Peak + Sutton
Our guest farmhouse, located 1 mile from the Canadian border, is close to Jay Peak Ski Resort and Mount Sutton. Mountain and meadow views are spectacular from every window! Here, you are perfectly poised to explore both the quaint, foodie-focused, French-Canadian, Eastern Townships, just across the border in Quebec AND the scenic back-roads, abundant lakes, family farms, mountain trails, local pubs, and old general stores of Northern Vermont. Or just enjoy the porch & peaceful atmosphere! The space This is a lovely, cozy old farmhouse decorated in a cottage eclectic style, bringing together old family antiques, treasures from my travels, and details that catch the eye. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families with kids, furry friends (pets)---ask about our dog walking services. Our listing shows 5 people sleep comfortably in beds (3 total) and the space can accommodate up to 8 people by using our comfy sectional couch and ottoman that turns into a cot. Several groups have done this and made it work for them although it's not ideal for every traveler. We have plenty of pillows and blankets for everyone. You can also inquire about even larger groups as we will sometimes consider renting both sides of the farmhouse which enables you to sleep up to 12 people comfortably in 6 bedrooms. Guest access You have full access to the entire home. This is an old farmhouse that has been separated into two units for decades. Traditionally, the farm-hand and his family always lived in the rental unit and the farmer (my father and before him, my grandfather and great-grandfather) live on the other side. The entrances are completely separate and there is as little or as much interaction as you would like. You'd just need to come knock next door! Other things to note PETS / DOG WALKING SERVICE - We welcome your furry family members! We offer dog walking as an additional service to our guests, as long as we know ahead of time and can confirm our schedules align for availability. We find it can be a great worry to take off your mind while out skiing or participating in other adventures which may make it easier to keep your pet at home. We will generally take your pup for walks in our safe long barnyard (especially in winter months), or in the huge back meadow, as opposed to the road. Inquire about cost and pay with cash upon arrival. Please let us know if this is of any interest to you at the time you book your reservation.
