Other things to note Enjoy the rolling hills of Washington County bordering Vermont (we are 35 minutes to Manchester for great shopping and touristing and 20 minutes to Bennington and Arlington) . If you are more active, launch your kayaks 5 minutes away in the Battenkill River or take a dip in nearby Lake Lauderdale at the county park. Take any number of spectacular hikes. Wander through the historic village of Cambridge and visit the numerous antique shops and art galleries or take in a show at Hubbard Hall (one of the nation's oldest continuously operating theaters). Take a short drive to the New Skete Monastery for meditation and the best cheese cake ever. History buff? Visit the Bennington and Saratoga Battlefields. If you are participating or want to take in a horse show, the Cambridge Saddle club is about 3 miles away (ask us about accommodations for your horse). We are also 40 minutes to Saratoga Springs New York or North Adams Ma, 30 minutes to Williams Ma and 45 minutes to Lake George. For skiers we are 1 hour to Mt Snow, 37 minutes to Prospect, 15 minutes to Willard, 1 hour to Stratton, 45 minutes to Bromley, 54 minutes to Jimney Peak, 48 minutes to West Mountain and 58 minutes to Magic Mountain.
