Would you like to escape the distractions, stress and noise of your daily life? Do you love the idea of "roughing it" but want a cozy bed to sleep in at night? Do you long to go "off the grid," but still want to have light when it gets dark, heat for those chilly Maine nights, and hot coffee in the morning? If so, you are ready for Serenity Now, our comfy cabin -an extreme "glamping" experience- where the only time you'll use your phone is to capture photos of your family, friends and nature. The space Located on beautiful Lake Moxie in the heart of Maine, Serenity Now cabin is the perfect basecamp for hunting (abundant wildlife!), fishing, hiking (The AT and trailhead to three beautiful mountains are all less than 5 miles drive), biking, kayaking (we have two you can use), white-water rafting (only one mile away!), four-wheeling (rentals in Bingham, June-Oct), snowmobiling (right from our front door!), snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, leaf-peeping, bird watching, wildlife observing and finally, sunrise watching (my favorite!)! This is just a partial listing of the things you can do, as this area is a nature-lovers playground. The cabin is comfortably furnished with an open floor concept where everyone can be together, but not feel cramped. A large, custom made table is a great place to play games, and the two lofts, each with two full-size beds, provide a cozy space to sleep or read. Although we do have electricity and a full kitchen with a sink, there is no running water (potable water, as well as water for washing up at the sink, will be provided for you). The outhouse (yes, outhouse, but wait until you see it! it has electricity, a heater and it even smells good!) is steps from the house and well lit. There is no WIFI or even a cellphone signal ( you can pick up a signal a few miles down the road and also strangely on top of nearby Mosquito Mountain!), but we have a landline for emergencies or to call us if you need us. The cabin is a few feet from the lake and there is an outside fire pit you may use. Our dock is a beautiful place to sip coffee and watch the sun rise, to nap in the hammock or to fish from. Our shoreline is a work in progress and the space is not suitable to wade in the water just yet, but there is a ladder at the end of the dock to plop into a float or the kayak and let your cares drift away! The lake is drained in late Fall via the dam, so the water will recede, exposing fallen logs along the shoreline. Thus, ice fishing is not possible on Moxie, but other lakes nearby can support this popular Maine winter activity. Our cabin is four seasons. It is well insulated and stays warm and cozy with a monitor heater. At Serenity Now, you can be as active or inactive as you want. There is something for everyone, so no need to feel guilty if you prefer to just sit by the water's edge and absorb the fresh air and tranquility. It will leave you feeling refreshed.
