Charming Cape Cod in quaint Hastings on Hudson NY
My home is a charming Cape Cod on a beautiful street in Hastings on Hudson, with hardwood floors and a fireplace. It is close to New York City and Westchester restaurants and cultural activities. The upstairs floor is all yours -- with one bedroom, separate office (including futon couch) and bathroom. The train station is 1.7 miles away, easy access by car, bike, or walking, and the train is 47 min to Grand Central. My place is good for couples and business travelers. The space My home is a spacious, lived-in house that you will be sharing with me. I've had many guests from all over the world and have lived and traveled all over the world myself. I enjoy getting to know new people. When I am traveling, my housemate Bridget will be in the basement apartment if you need anything. You have the entire upstairs to yourself, including one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, cable TV, and large closet, as well as a separate room for an office, with a desk and futon couch. There is also a private bathroom for you. Both the bedroom and office have air conditioners when it gets hot. I have high-speed Verizon FiOS cable internet (speed test rated: Very Fast, >75 mbps). You're welcome to use the full kitchen downstairs when you'd like; it is shared with me. The house is located 1.7 miles from the Hastings on Hudson train station, which is easy to get to by driving, biking, or walking - but it is a bit hilly. The train station is right on the Hudson riverfront, just below the charming downtown Hastings area. The train to Grand Central terminal runs frequently, usually twice per hour, and takes 45-53 minutes. If you want to take public transportation to the train, you can take a public bus to the neighboring town of Yonkers - just a 15-20 minute ride to the Yonkers train station. Most people in this area have a car, but you can get by without one, and there are Ubers and cabs, but they are not always available quickly. We are just a few minutes walk from a biking/running/walking path (South County rail trail) and Hillside Woods is a lovely, woodsy place for a walk (about a mile away). MacEachron Park in front of Harvest on Hudson restaurant is a great place to have a picnic and watch the sunset over the river. We are close to many other cute neighboring rivertowns, including Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, Irvington, Tarrytown, and Yonkers. If you need any additional information or recommendations, don't hesitate to reach out! Guest access Guests will have to use the main door and go through the dining room to the stairs. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, sharing it with me. There is plenty of street parking and also parking available in the driveway. Bikes can be stored in the garage. Other things to note We would prefer longer-term guests, but shorter stays are possible.
