This compact, self-contained apartment (with private entrance) is attached to an architecturally designed home nestled in a wooded hillside overlooking a large meadow. Its remote location, 4 minutes drive above the town of Oregon House, is an ideal spot for a getaway. With the entire apartment to yourself it can be a perfect retreat, a romantic weekend, or a quiet work/study space. A place to relax, meditate, read and feel a world away from everyday concerns. No same day reservations accepted. The space The compact, light-filled living room, with warm, maple wood floor, has a designated work space, a comfortable lounging area and a cozily inviting window seat. As part of the living area the IKEA built-in kitchenette does not have a full stove but is equipped with basic cooking utensils and dining necessities as well as useful appliances: refrigerator (no freezer); a blender; rice cooker; microwave; induction stove top, and a small toaster oven. Coffee machine and electric kettle included. The butcher-block bar is a great place for food prep, and for dining at inside, perched on stools. Passing through a short passage, the separate bedroom is very cozy, with a very comfy QUEEN-size bed. It looks out onto a Mediterranean-inspired patio (not accessible to guests) and although the room is overlooked by windows on the other side, they are permanently shut off, so your privacy is completely assured.The charming, tiled bathroom has a shower and bathtub. A mini-split A/C unit keeps the space cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. The fast speed Wi-Fi connection is good for Zoom meetings, WhatsApp calls, and streaming (not constant). Cell phone reception is best with AT&T, but Verizon is accessible in other parts of the area. Guest access Only after driving down into the spacious parking area will you see the house. A gravel, tree-lined, pathway leads to the apartment’s entrance, up four steps to a wooden deck. You can dine outside here but are also free to use the main patio where you can also dine or lounge, and the deck chairs on the lawn afford a great view of the night sky and star gazing. For longer stays, during limited hours, there is a laundry room available on request. Other things to note Oregon House is a small town but is spread out through the surrounding countryside.
