The space Maple Grove Carriage House, in the charming Village of Cape Vincent, is the ideal location for exploring both the Canadian and U.S. sides of the famous Thousand Islands Region. Guests may enjoy swimming, sailing, boating, kayaking, bicycling, snorkeling, scuba diving, river rafting, walking to nearby Tibbitts Point Light House, or sitting on the shore watching the ocean going ships as they pass to and from the Great Lakes. No-cost 48 hour boat tie up may be available at the village dock and the dock at the State Department of Environmental Conservation Research Station. There is a public boat launch ramp in the village. The vehicle ferry to Kingston, Ontario leaves from Cape Vincent. Boat tours of the islands and castles are available from nearby Clayton, Alexandria Bay, and Gananoque, Ontario. Cape Vincent is the home of the annual French Festival. Maple Grove is the home of the annual Chopin International Piano Competition for Young People. Maple Grove is located on the mainland. It is not on an island. You will not need a boat as you would for almost all of the islands. You will not have to deal with the weather and logistics problems of being on an island. Guest access Guests may access the river front and the gardens. There is a gas barbecue that is shared. Other things to note The parking area is shared with renters of the main house, if any. One parking space is reserved for the Carriage House.
