Dogtrot in Dennis Cove: your basecamp for adventure! Steps away from the Appalachian Trail, this refuge is bordered by Cherokee National Forest and Laurel Fork Creek. On property activities include a wood fired hot tub, creek access for fishing / swimming, hiking, stargazing (no light pollution here) and of course, ping pong. With a picnic and hammock area by the creek, outdoor pavilion with a large fireplace, and no TV, you are finally able to spend some quality outdoor time with your family! The space This cozy cottage is big on outdoors but can still sleep up to 3 families. The house is best described as a modern dogtrot. The main part of the home contains the living/kitchen/dining area, master bedroom with king bed an en suite bathroom, lofted bunk room, full guest bath, and laundry closet. This part of the house is connected to the secondary part of the home via the “dogtrot” or screened-in porch (complete with ping pong table). The secondary part of the home includes 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds, which share a Jack and Jill bathroom. The property also boasts an immaculate timber frame pavilion complete with a massive wood-burning fireplace. We have also just installed a wood-fired hot tub and wood-fired sauna! Laurel Fork Creek borders the front edge of the parcel and is every kid’s favorite place to splash an afternoon away. Additionally, there are only 5 houses on this dead-end street with only one of those being lived in full-time so there is virtually no traffic. Guest access Guests are welcome to use anything and everything on site from the full-service kitchen to the full-size Weber grill or picking from the apple trees and raspberry bushes in the summer. The only inaccessible space is the old root cellar, which we now use for storage, as it is locked. We have a tankless hot water heater for endless hot water as well as a full size washer and dryer. Please enjoy our recently installed wood-fired hot tub and wood-fired sauna! **Please note that the loft area where the bunk beds are located is only accessible by the built-in ladder, photos included in the listing.** Other things to note Please note that the road on the way up to this home is a windy, mountain road that has quite a bit of elevation. This might not be the right home for drivers who might are not comfortable driving in those conditions. There is a large woodshed by the parking area next to the trash cans. feel free to grab a cart and take the wood wherever you need on the property! We are able to offer satellite Internet, but please note that it is limited. *We do not allow any sort of weddings or events here!*
