If you rather discover new possibilities to eat out each time, we recommend you to stroll around and let the neighbourhood surprise you! Some highly recommended places are: Nanaya Japanese restaurant nearby, Tasta’mm… or Celler Ca la Paqui traditional food or He Cheng Chinese restaurant. To choose the right place, do as locals do and go into the most crowded places, as they will tend to be the best in the area! Nightlife in this neighbourhood in Barcelona Nightlife in El Clot or Camp de l’Arpa is pretty relaxed. If you like to sit down after dinner and drink a cocktail or prepared with love mojito, here you’ll find several places to do so. Moorea and Naranjito are two bars you definitely need to try! Piratas Disco is the only dance club in the neighbourhood, so if you want to party till dawn the best option may be to go to the city centre, which is well connected underground. Local traditions On the first fortnight of November, popular celebrations take place on the streets of the neighbourhood. During the Festa Major honouring Catholic St. Martin, gigantic figures, fireworks and cultural activities capture the attention of locals. It’s quite a demonstration of Catalonian tradition! Groceries Mercat del Clot (Clot Market) is a non-tourist local market to do your groceries, where locals buy fresh food: seafood, meat products, fruits and vegetables, poultry…Stall owners are very kind and always willing to help, so if you want to find out how to cook certain typical products they will inform you really well! Plus, for a faster way of filling your pantry ask where the nearest supermarket to your home is. There are several around here! This neighbourhood in Barcelona is a residential one, which is why it’s so easy to do your groceries. Shopping Around Clot Street and Market Square is the highest concentration of family-run shops in El Clot, whilst in Camp de l’Arpa the shopping hub is Rogent Street. You won’t find large shops or international clothing chains within the neighbourhood, but you won’t miss them either. In addition to these small shops, the shopping mall Glòries just outside its boundaries is a good place to discover Spanish and international brands, or even to join one of their cooking workshops. However, if you like to find little treasures amongst thousands of used products, don’t miss the flea market of Els Encants Vells (“the old charms” in Catalan) or Fira de Bellcaire. Sport facilities Wondering if it’s possible to do sports in El Clot and Camp de l’Arpa? The private gym McFit and the Public Sports Center Clot de la Mel are two good options, well equipped and cheap! Green areas Apart from smaller green areas, Parc del Clot (Clot Park) is a 3.5 ha large green space in the city, pretty unknown we could say. It was built a few decades ago on the grounds of former industries, whose remains are fully integrated on the landscape. It’s not difficult to see children playing, local families taking a walk or young people doing sports. Cultural offer and attractions El Clot hosts one of the most famous buildings in the city: the skyscraper Agbar Tower. It’s visible from many neighbourhoods in Barcelona, clustering offices from different companies. Plus, the building of the Municipal School of Arts and Crafts is a clear example of local modernism with its red bricks and ceramic decorations. The cultural offer in Barcelona is very rich, and this neighbourhood doesn’t stay behind. The cultural center in La Farinera del Clot organizes workshops, exhibitions and conferences. Moreover, in Glòries shopping mall you can go to the cinema. Libraries When exam times arrive, you’ll find a quiet place to study in Camp de l’Arpa-Caterina Albert Library. It’s located in the northern part of the neighbourhood. Of course, you’ll always be able to study at your university’s library About Tourist tax: Anyone aged 17 and over staying at an apartment, hostel, hotel, campsite or cruise ship will be charged.
