The space The Kooser-Ankney Homestead (circa 1832) is a colonial farmhouse listed on the Somerset County (PA) Historic Register that has been lovingly restored. The property has convenient access to Seven Springs (11 miles), Hidden Valley (9 miles), and Laurel Hill State Park (4 miles), and is the perfect place to have a family gathering, enjoy a long weekend, or celebrate a special occasion. The home features 4 original wood burning fireplaces and 2 gas fireplaces in the guest bedrooms. During warmer months, there is an outdoor fire pit for evenings filled with stargazing. Firewood is provided for guests. There are three formal bedrooms as well as sleeper sofas on the enclosed porch and in the library. There is a 65" TV in the living room and a 55" TV in the library, with Bose surround sound. The library also features plenty of books and board games (and even a rolling ladder for the book shelves). There are three bathrooms, and the master bathroom features a corner Jacuzzi tub. A front load washer and dryer are available, and towels and linens are included with the rental. The home is equipped with Starlink Internet. Guests of the property can also access our Electric Vehicle charger (220-Volt 50 Amps). The chef's kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a 6-burner gas stove, and two large sinks for meal preparation. An outdoor propane grill is located on the covered front porch with convenient access to the kitchen. The dining room has a large table that seats the entire family and is handcrafted from old beams found in the historic barn. There are many special sites within driving distance to include Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, Flight 93 Memorial, and Ohiopyle State Park (with whitewater rafting) as well as Bedford Springs Resort and Spa. Guest access Guests have entire access to the main two floors of the house, as well as the acreage surrounding the house and the outdoor fire pit. The barn is currently under renovation and is not accessible.
