ADVENTUROUS, SECLUDED VILLA WITH STUNNING VIEWS
One-of-a-Kind Experience with Expansive Views of Paradise! Caribo Bay is a private, open-air, solar-powered villa in the jungle. Located a half-mile from the town of Wesley down a spicy dirt road in a small area called "Eden", it is easy to see how this place can be mistaken for paradise. Surrounded by a cedar forest and with views for miles from a shaded veranda, this property offers true seclusion and comfort in a tropical wonderland you will find no place else. The space The villa's 1,200 square feet accommodates up to four people, with a queen bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds in the second bedroom. The property has a washing machine, gas stove, and fridge. As Caribo Bay is a little more adventurous than most properties, guests should understand the following: - The villa is remote - there are no neighbors within a half mile of the property. The road down from the town of Wesley requires a 4WD vehicle. - Caribo Bay is an open-air villa in the jungle, so it is not a sterile environment. Bugs are minimal due to the constant ocean breeze, but creatures (lizards, frogs, birds, bats, spiders, etc. – all harmless, most cute) occasionally come inside to visit. - The villa runs on 100% renewable solar power (using US plugs), including a hot water system installed in 2022. You will want to ensure you turn lights off when not using them and at bedtime. - Internet is reliable but metered in our remote location - it will shut off for the month once the data limit is reached. For this reason, we ask everyone in your party to download all data-heavy things (movies, music, and streaming services) before your arrival. Doing this ensures internet is available for all other uses (work, regular browsing, emails) as well as for other guests. A family with three teenagers and two working parents did not hit the data limit after staying for a month, so there is hope for everyone. 4G cell phone service is also available at the location. If you are good with and/or excited about the above, you will be rewarded with magical views that never get old - you may even see whales, sea turtles, or the endangered Jacko parrots! Note: Airport construction is active on the northern part of Dominica. Accessing this villa requires driving across a construction area. While there is typically no or minimal construction activity near the villa, you may occasionally hear some noise when construction is active nearby. Other things to note A four wheel drive car is recommended to access the property (and, actually, most of Dominica).
