The Elk is a high end loft on the 2nd floor of an original building on the historic square. The square offers shopping, dining & even the original movie theatre. Nearby attractions: Jack Daniels Distillery, The Whiskey Trail, bustling Huntsville, the beautiful Elk River or Tims Ford Lake OR do nothing & enjoy a quiet weekend in a quaint small town in a meticulously renovated loft w/ all the amenities. Won't have to go far to enjoy a yummy meal & cold drink - The Elk Taproom is just downstairs! The space The Elk Loft is a the result of an extensive renovation of a historic building originally built in the late 19th century. The loft is on the second floor of the building above the ground level fab restaurant space (not open late), which is occupied by The Elk Taproom & open for lunch & dinner until 9pm at the latest on weekends - so plenty of time to enjoy its yummy food & cold drinks BUT not too much time to be inconvenienced by a restful visit. Through private entrance at street level and up a flight of 23 stairs, you'll find a big city space in a small town setting complete with exposed original brick walls and wood raftered ceilings. 1800 square feet includes a totally open kitchen/living/dining space with a huge leather couch, oversized smart TV, an oversized dining table for 8 or more and big open windows overlooking the square. No expense was spared in the kitchen where you'll find stainless appliances including a Wolf range, everything you need to make a gourmet meal and coffee station with carafe and pod options. The primary suite has a king size bed, walk in closet, smart TV and luxurious on suite bath with large tiled shower and separate soaking tub. The second bedroom has 2 beds, one single, one double, with large closet and smart tv. The second full bath is right next door and has full size tiled shower. FAST Wi-fi is (of course) included. Plus private & simple entry/exit is easy with a keypad system. It is a perfect space to get away for a weekend or a month and experience all that small town life has to offer. Guest access Full and private access to the entire 2nd floor. PERFECT example of our historic town's motto - "Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow". Other things to note Space is only accessible by the staircase & unique code for your stay from the private entrance on street level. The Elk Taproom is the 1st Floor resident which is a wonderful place for fun, food, and fellowship! But please note while unlikely it is possible to hear a bit of residual noise from the taproom. Not open late and def a place you should visit during your stay! Well planned and insulated for your stay. No detail was left out. As always - our aim is to please & go above & beyond for our guests so we have provided "sound" machines in each bedroom + the kitchen area just in case you want some white noise in the background!
