Re-energize and reconnect in this quintessential Chester County farmhouse. The Buck Run Farmhouse was built in 1767 and is believed to have been part of the Underground Railroad. Beautifully situated on over 90 acres of forest and fields for hiking, bird watching, and exploring; the Buck Run Farmhouse is the perfect place to retreat to!! The space Three story 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with living room, sunroom, and library. Outdoor spaces include dining areas, a SoloStove, and two decks as well as a grill for guest use. For kids we offer some basic sports equipment such as a net, and a few assorted balls, games. The perfect place for a group trip or family reunion! First Floor: Kitchen Sunroom Formal Dining Room Family Room Full Bathroom Second Floor: Library Primary Bedroom (king size) Primary Bathroom Second Bedroom (queen size) Third Bedroom (twin size) Full Bathroom Third Floor: Fourth Bedroom (full size) Fifth Bedroom (full size) Guest access Guests have access to the entire first and second floor of the house as well as the bedrooms on the third floor. Guests are asked not to enter the basement or attic spaces unless necessary and to take precautions if they do so. We have mechanical equipment and these areas are not intended for guest access (LOW clearances in the basement!) Guests are welcome to explore the property! Please note that parts of the land are actively farmed. We ask that guests are respectful of these areas and recognize that they do not have exclusive access to the outdoor spaces. The house and immediately surrounding area is reserved for guests only. The barn is off limits to guests as we do have horses on site. Please ask if you wish to interact with the horses - otherwise enjoy watching them from the fence lines. Please note horses can bite and kick! We don’t want anyone hurt. We are working towards our animal sanctuary goal and eventually will have a petting zoo experience available also. While we welcome guests enjoying the back patio, please be sure to close and cover the umbrellas when you are done using them or if there will be any wind stronger than a mild breeze. Other things to note While toiletries are not provided, we will provide a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, a sponge, and several trash bags. If you have any other special needs, by all means give us a call and we're happy to help in any way we can. Please also know that cell service is very limited. We have great WiFi and calls can occasionally go through when outside the house but you may need to download a texting app to make calls via WiFi. This house was built in the mid 1700's, it and the land are not easily accessible to persons with disabilities. There are many raised thresholds and narrow doorways as well as very little flat land in the outdoor spaces.
