Our home in Churchtown is a perfect spot for groups of friends, two families, or a family with parents in tow. The home sits on 10 acres on a quiet country road and features two separate properties: a restored three bedroom 1830s farmhouse and a converted two bedroom barn. The space The main house is an 1830s farmhouse retains much of its original detail, but has been completely updated to include full-house generator, fully updated heating, new bathrooms and kitchen, and excellent Wifi. Downstairs is a formal living room with original open fireplace. A spacious dining room is the perfect spot for a dinner party and is right of a kitchen that has everything you need to whip up the perfect meal: a Sub Zero refrigerator, Nespresso and drip coffee makers, blender, food processor, cast iron skillets, non-stick and stainless steel cookware and everything in between. Off the kitchen is a cozy den / TV room and a full bathroom with a shower. Upstairs are the three bedrooms (one king, one queen, one twin), an office nook and another full bathroom, all thoughtfully decorated in a modern farmhouse style. 20 meters or so from the main house gets you to the newly-built barn, which features reclaimed beams taken from an original barn structure. The barn is decorated in a Scandinavian style and centers around an open-plan second floor space with high ceilings and windows on all four sides. The barn includes a queen size bed, a spacious seating area and a dining table + kitchen that was hand-built using original barn wood. A full bath with a skylight to watch the night skies completes the upstairs space. Downstairs is the fifth bedroom, with a queen bed and a built-in desk. Please note that the only bathroom for the barn is upstairs, and the entire second floor is open floor-plan . The 10 acre property is situated on a sloping lot. An English style garden with beautiful perennials frames the front of the house and is bordered by rolling lawns. A fenced in dog run is perfect for guests traveling with four-legged friends. A stone staircase leads up to the extremely private, heated in-ground pool that gets the sun throughout the day and has breathtaking views of the Catskills (just wait for the sunsets!). The pool area includes a pool house with a refrigerator, half bathroom and an outdoor shower (hot and cold water). A large deck with sofas, loungers and an outdoor dining table completes the picture! Guest access You will be able to enjoy all 10 acres, the main house, converted barn, the heated pool and the entire yard. We have a lockbox on premises to let yourself in. Other things to note The property is just a ten minute drive from Hudson, but in an extremely quiet and peaceful setting. A short stroll takes you to the beautiful Churchtown Dairy where you can buy your meat, fresh milk and cheeses. In under five minutes you can get all your fresh produce from Morningstar Farm, and you’re also a five minute drive from a Hannaford supermarket + pharmacy as well as the amazing West Taghkanic Diner. For guests traveling from NYC, the house is under 10 minutes off of the Taconic State Parkway.
