Less than 5 minute drive to downtown Highlands + a short canoe ride to On the Verandah restaurant with water access to Lake Sequoyah...Quiet mountain location with beautiful wooded views down to Big Creek. Enjoy the back deck, dock + canoe, and fully stocked kitchen. Completely redecorated with new bedding, towels and art. High chair, bumbo seat and porta crib. Photos and trip ideas at @whittlebearscabin on IG. The space Enjoy an authentic log cabin with recent improvements and updated bedding and decor. Two queen bedrooms and one king are on three different floors. The king bedroom upstairs is next to an open loft overlooking the living room that has two twin beds for children. The area is quiet without being too remote. Plenty of space to linger around the property and enjoy nature. We have DVDs on hand from our collection, a new TV in the living room, terrace suite and king bedrooms, wifi, and gas furnace. Life jackets and oars are on the deck to go with the canoe on the dock. Limited AT&T app service is often available as well as smart TVs for accessing your favorite services. We do not have cable. Guest access The entire property is available for use except for locked owner's closets. Property can be accessed via a private gravel road. Steps with some areas that may be harder for guests with limited mobility may make our cabin a less than ideal vacation spot for those not sure of their footing. Our front steps are not long but they are not fully lined with railing in the first section coming off the driveway. For most guests this will not be an issue. Access to the dock requires use of rustic steps with some sections harder to navigate. Again, this will only be an issue for a guest with limited mobility or unsure of their step. If a loved one is able to help a guest into the cabin, this guest can enjoy a no stair experience by staying on the main floor as they can still enjoy the deck views and main floor bed/bath. Other things to note Should winter weather be an issue accessing the property, cancellations are accepted day of. Brand new HVAC. Tankless water heater for always hot showers! We have consistent Internet but cannot guarantee there will not be service outages during your stay. Guests are welcome to contact our local service provider for troubleshooting help if needed as we do not have onsite personnel available to fix internet outages. Details in the House Manual section.
