Camping on public land on the island is not allowed. Camping on private land is allowed. ABOUT THE BIRDHOUSE An off the grid, star gazing glamping tent nestled at the edge of a quiet tidal wetlands. *Please note, you are not camping on the ocean's edge. The island offers dozens of breathtaking hikes available along with ocean’s edge and at different inland locations. All hikes are easy to access! Life is simple and easy being here! You’ll enjoy these amenities at the birdhouse tent: ✓Eco Flow solar power generator for lights and anything you need! ✓ Solar powered LED string lights, path lights, and twinkle lights around campfire. ✓Joolca on demand propane water heater for out door tent shower and kitchenette sink. Hot water fast and amazing pressure! ✓Fresh drinking water hose runs from my house to your tent. ✓Loveable loo composting toilet. ✓Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite high speed internet. ✓Campfire with bench, wood stools and chairs (FIREWOOD INCLUDED) ✓Heavy duty barbecue swivel grill for outdoor BBQ over open fire ✓Coleman propane stove with small grill for cooking on kitchenette ✓ Linen sheets & brand new mattress and pillows enclosed in hypoallergenic covers. ✓Extra blankets & electric blanket. ✓Games and puzzles for chill-in evenings. ✓I live in a little modern home tucked away at the top of the hill above your tent, hidden from view with sail shade and umbrella. If you need me, I am close by, and if you want privacy, you won't be bothered. Other things to note FERRY: Vinalhaven is an unabridged island. TIPS: After you book, we’ll discuss more about the ferry line for cars, plus tips and tricks for getting here. HIKING: You can discover many of the trails owned and managed by the Vinalhaven Land Trust on their app. Search 'VHtrails' in app store. After you book, I'll send you everything you'll want to know about your stay on the island. BIKING: The island is bike friendly. It is approximately 23 square miles. *I do recommend experienced bike riders only, as there are no biking lanes on the island. You are sharing a rural, winding road with cars. DOGS: We are dog-friendly. Please know, the property is not gated. If you bring a dog, please know it will need to be on a leash and tied up when outside. If you leave the dog in the tent when you go out, it will need to be placed in its crate. Thank you.
