Welcome to Serendipity Knoll! Relax and unwind in this peaceful grove, completely secluded but centrally located near restaurants, shopping, historic sites and tourist activities. Stroll through the gardens, wander by the creek or sit and relax at the pool as you enjoy the surroundings on our beautiful two acre lot. We believe you will literally feel your stress melt away as you drive onto the property. Easily accessible by train(Septa) and by highway. The space The first thing you’ll see as you pull into the drive is the main house. Our home was originally built in 1810 as a blacksmith shop. Through the years it was updated, added onto, and eventually became a family dwelling. The cottage where you will stay began as a carriage house with two stalls for horses and carriages. The cottage sits directly behind the main house. You can park directly in front of the cottage. You will be able to see that the property is one large rolling swath of beautiful blooming hillside. So, while you will walk into the home on the ground level you will also go up a set of stairs to the living area and walk out the back door at ground level. On the first floor you will find a small foyer and welcome table with the bedroom to the left and the bathroom at the back. The bedroom has a queen bed and a rod for hanging clothes. The bathroom has a sink, mirror, toilet and shower. Upstairs is the living area with couch(sofa bed), table and chairs, bar, cooking appliances and TV (with Roku). There is ample space for lounging, eating, working and playing. Directly through the back doors is the pool and fenced in area. The yard and pool area are shared with my family and our three dogs. You can often find us working in the gardens, playing out back, or sitting by the pool. We are happy to share this space with you! The pool is generally open from the middle of May until the beginning or middle of October. If you have specific questions about the pool and if it is open, please ask. A good size portion of the property is fenced off around the cottage. This is a perfect area for dogs to play if they are joining you on your getaway. Outside of the fenced in area we ask that your dogs be on a leash at all times. Please note: The kitchenette in the space is really a bar area. There is a bar with space for 4 people, a sink, mini fridge/ice maker, keurig, microwave, toaster oven, plug in electric burner for cooking. There is a sauce pan and skillet as well as paper plates, cups and utensils. There are plastic cups to use at the pool as well as glass wine glasses and pint glass to use inside if you’d like. Guest access The cottage is private. You will not be sharing it with anyone else. But we use the yard (gardens, fire pit, etc) and the pool regularly so we are happy to share them with you. When you arrive you can park in one of the spaces directly in front of the cottage. You are welcome to wander through the entire two acres during your stay. If you bring your dog(s) they can play inside the fenced area. Anytime they are outside the fenced area they must be on a leash. We do have honeybees towards the back of the property which you are welcome to watch up close or from a distance (or not at all). We walk past the boxes all the time with no issue - just be aware of your surroundings. There is a creek along the perimeter of our property which you may enjoy strolling along with your dog or coffee or both. It’s also great for catching frogs! Other things to note There is a heat/air conditioning unit upstairs as well as downstairs. There is a ceiling fan upstairs as well.
