Waterfront home on Gerrish Island
Beautiful and private waterfront home on a tidal creek on Gerrish Island in Kittery Point, ME. Our back deck overlooks a sloping yard to the creek. We are minutes away from many beaches, wonderful restaurants, shopping, ropes course and lobster! The space This is a beautiful and cozy cape house overlooking a sloping lawn to a tidal creek. Gorgeous every season, including autumn leaf peeping time! This is my home part time, and has been my family home, so it is set up with special thought for guests, and also has personal items in it. Please treat the space with care. The master bedroom and bathroom and laundry are on the first floor. The kitchen has new appliances. It is fully stocked with cooking ware, table ware, cloth napkin and towels. You will need to bring your own paper products and cleaning supplies. The kitchen opens to the dining room, which seats six. The dining room is casual, with older furniture. From the dining room, which has large sliding glass doors to the back deck (two levels). The living room is comfortable and casual, as well. There is a new futon which folds out into a double bed. There is a relatively small flat screen TV in the living room. It is a great space for family and friends to gather. The second floor looks down on the dining room. One of the rooms is open in this space, with day bed and trundle, as well as book shelves stocked with children's books and novels. The other two rooms each have a single bed, one with a TV with built in DVD and VCR (no cable upstairs). This is a cape house, so the ceilings are slanted, but there is plenty of room for standing and storage. Guest access You will be able to access the entire house except for one locked bedroom. This includes a gas grill on the back deck. You are welcome to use our bicycles and boogie boards stored in the basement, as well as house canoe, kayak, paddles, and life jackets. Please return anything to the spot where you found it. BOATS MUST BE RETURNED TO THE YARD There is a lock box on the door with the key in it, so late arrivals are no problem. Check it is usually at 3:00 pm unless I can accommodate earlier arrival. Checkout is at 11:00 am. Other things to note You can use any condiments or baking staples in our kitchen, but please check the expiration dates before using. Please discard all left over food you have other than these products. Please make sure all dishes and especially silverware are clean before you put them away. Run the dishwasher before you leave. I ask that you wash towels during your stay, and strip all beds and start a load of sheets before you leave so that our cleaning service has time to finish laundry for next guests. Please do not smoke anywhere on this property. Ever. The trash is in the closet to the left of the fridge. Mixed recycling is to the left of that. Please rinse your containers before putting them in our upstairs recycling bin, as the smell of old beer and other rotting food is difficult to remove. Trash pick up is on Tuesdays and needs to be out by 7:00 am, although they usually come later in the day.. The poison ivy at the edges of the yard has been cleared, but if you are playing in the yard, you might want to wear long pants and socks and wash afterwards. There is none immediately surrounding the driveway, deck, or path to the water. We have never had anyone find a tick after being at our house, but it is an endemic area, so a tick check at the end of the day is an important a precaution. You must WEAR life jackets if you are using any of our boats. You need to return them to where you found them. We now have three kayaks (one two person). Please leave these face down when you are done with them. Guest agrees to indemnify and hold Homeowner harmless from any liability for personal injury, property damage, or loss or theft of personal property sustained by Guest or parties invited onto the property by Guest.
