This lakeside retreat offers a perfect setting to make memories that will last a lifetime. The space This well-appointed house has a wrap-around deck facing the lake and a bright, airy great room with plenty of space for your group to relax and connect. There are also quiet settings where you can find some time to yourself. The entire house is light and spacious, with tons of natural light streaming in through the many windows. Enjoy lake views from the indoor dining table, which seats 10. The fully equipped kitchen has three bar stools and morning sunshine, as well as views of blueberry bushes and the back deck and terracing. The kitchen is supplied with basics such as olive oil, spices, coffee, and tea. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail from the stunning terrace overlooking the water. The rocking chairs are a comfortable spot for watching people enjoying the lake and the lawn below. The deck also has a dining table that is perfect for al fresco dining, as well as some games to enjoy the warm nights. The living room is beautifully decorated with neutral, warm tones and is the perfect place to get comfortable for pre-dinner cocktails, cozy late night chats, or even family game nights. There is space for 13 in this house. Situated just off the great room, the main level offers three luxurious bedrooms with everything you need, including bedding, towels, and toiletries. One bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom features arched windows showcasing the water views. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer so you can pack lighter. In another wing of the house there are two bedrooms with a shared bathroom: one room with a full bed and a larger room with both a queen bed and a full bed. Upstairs you will find a loft overlooking the great room with a reading nook, a foosball table, and a children’s easel. Step through a small game room to find a bunk room with five twin beds with an ensuite bathroom. Situated on a point surrounded by nearly 180 degrees of water, this property features an expansive lawn sloping toward the waterfront. Share stories and music around the large fire pit or roast s’mores on our small waterfront campfire spot using wood provided for your use. We offer an array of yard games, including Kubb, cornhole, badminton, whiffle ball and bat, beach balls, croquet, giant Connect 4, a soccer ball, and more. There are six adult life jackets, four children’s life jackets, one Swimmy, and one infant’s life jacket on-site to use with our canoe or double kayak. Have fun in the lake with our water noodles or boogie boards. We hope you love our magical spot here in Maine as much as we do! Guest access This home is only accessible by 14 stairs. There are stone steps and a stone pier leading to the dock. The water at the end of the dock is approximately 4 feet deep - no diving off the dock, please. While possible to have more than 4 cars on the premises, please keep in mind that parking gets tight at that point. Other things to note Damariscotta Lake is a clean freshwater lake approximately 2 miles wide and 17 miles long. This home is located on the east side of the great basin at the top of the lake. The Damariscotta Lake State Park Beach is a 2-mile swim or paddle from our house. You’ll find the best handmade waffle cones you’ve ever had at the Jefferson Scoop, an ice cream shop about 100 meters from the state park entrance. Continuing up the road, you’ll pass the Jefferson Market and come to Davis Stream, which you can access by boat from the house. We love to paddle up the stream under that low bridge to dock at the Jefferson Market for a sandwich or necessities. Because this house is located directly across the lake from Wavus Camp, you might hear a dinner bell or the distant cheering of campers. The bottom of the lake along our property is stone. While there are no weeds along our waterfront, there are water lilies across the cove. You will likely find freshwater clams. Fishing is fantastic on this lake - it’s common to catch lake trout in early spring, and bass and perch throughout the summer. There are islands to explore on the lake as well. We are ideally located in Midcoast Maine very near the ocean. It’s less than a 20-minute drive to Damariscotta and ~35 minutes to Camden/Rockport. There are plentiful hiking trails, lighthouses, beaches, and other sights where you can spend an afternoon or a full day. The kitchen does not have a stand mixer. Our neighbors deserve their peace and appreciate guests driving slowly on the shared camp roads. As such, we request NO parties. If you anticipate that your group will be loud into the night, this is not the place for you. While we love animals, we don’t allow pets.
