Cozy tent in the trees on organic flower farm
Tuck yourself into a mature oak forest on the field’s edge of our flower farm, Tapalou Guilds. All-weather canvas tent is pitched with a comfy king mattress inside. Three elevated decks with chairs and a hammock give you options for relaxing and steeping in the forest vibe. Fully equipped outdoor kitchen with propane gas range. We provide potable water from our well. Outdoor shower with on-demand hot water. Simple outhouse with sawdust composting system is clean and convenient. The space Our space is limited to two adults and we appreciate your consideration for the contemplative and peaceful campsite we have created. We also encourage families to visit and can accommodate up to two children in addition to the two adults, just let us know at time of booking. There is no amplified music at the campsite. Please note that sound projects readily from the upper decks throughout our property. Please be well prepared for cold-weather camping. The Winnerwell woodstove provides comfortable heat in the tent while it is burning, but the tent does not hold heat very well once the fire burns out overnight. As such, you will need proper clothing and bedding to remain comfortable during cold nights. We will remove the woodstove for summer once nights are regularly in the mid to upper 40s. If you are not familiar and/or comfortable with managing a woodstove, please reach out to Andy to determine if this is the right space for you in colder weather. Please come prepared for inclement weather. The tent remains dry and cozy due to its elevation and the poly roof over it, while the rest of the campsite is ultimately subject to the elements and may become damp while remaining totally functional. While we have created a comfortable retreat, in the end it IS still camping! Guest access The farm is our workplace and closed to the general public, but we are happy to schedule a time for you to walk around independently or have a brief tour with us. Other things to note Please bring your own bedding for the king mattress and/or two sleeping pads. We provide a cover sheet for the mattress and four pillows. In the event you don't have king bedding, a queen flat sheet works fine to cover the mattress. There is a small EGO battery inverter in the tent that powers a bedside lamp and also has two USB ports. There is a battery LED light strand in the kitchen/dining area below that provides minimal light. There are two rechargeable hanging LED lights (one over sink and one in outhouse) that you can move around the campsite as you please. You are welcome to use the outlet at the farmstand (where you park) for charging your device, etc. For longer stays, we will provide information on recharging the lights and EGO battery. Our farm is in a residential neighborhood and you are likely to experience a combination of sounds that come from the wild and the cultivated including: hooting owls, howling coyotes, crickets, dogs, peeping frogs, people, songbirds, roosters. Wildlife you might see includes deer, porcupines, possums, skunks, coyotes (!), rabbits, birds, etc.
