This cozy cottage is nestled in between Silver Lake and the Pinckney State Recreation Area. There are SEVEN trailheads (including Potawatomi Trail) and public access to Silver Lake and a beach close enough to walk or ride to. **No children** The loft space requires use of a spiral staircase. The loft has a very low ceiling! The house is SMALL but with an open feel. The space Setting is serene, wooded, and out of site from other houses. Nights are dark and quiet. A short but steep hill takes you to a secluded fire pit. The house sits on a dirt road (although you only drive about 50 yards on dirt off the main paved road). There is very little car traffic and walking from the house to the end of the road is lovely. However, there is NO direct public access to Silver Lake by this route which deadends into private property. If it rains, there are plenty of streaming services available on a big screen, smart tv that pivots towards the couch or bed. Kitchen is stocked with coffee maker/coffee, sugar, dishes, pots, pans, cookie sheet, cutting board, utensils, one small ice tray. - microwave - toaster - tea kettle Guest access Guests have access to the entire main floor and upstairs loft of the house including laundry room, patio, yard, and the hillside leading to the fire pit. The garage is currently NOT accessible to guests. Other things to note You will feel like you are in the woods of upper Michigan, but you are only 25 minutes from Ann Arbor, 10 minutes from Dexter, and 3 minutes from Pinckney State Recreation Area. Among the many trails is Losee Lake Trail which was built in 1996 was to give a hikers a quiet place to walk in Pinckney Recreation Area. Designated for "Foot Traffic Only", the 3.5-mile trail system is an area free of two-wheelers in a state park that had become a mountain bikers' paradise. But the trail was also designed to demonstrate what a living, thriving habitat marshes and ponds are. Want to see some wildlife? Lead them past the wetlands along the Losee Lake Trail in the spring and they're almost guaranteed to spot a cornucopia of life in the shallow waters. The outside loop of the system makes for the longest hike and is marked by red posts. The 3.3-mile route passes both the shoreline of Losee Lake and a half dozen ponds and marshes. Two spurs, marked by blue and yellow posts, allow you to shorten the hike to 1.5 miles or 2.5 miles. Needless to say, pack along your favorite bug dope if you hike this trail from mid-June through August.
