Our historic farmhouse is the perfect Hudson Valley retreat. The home is sun drenched with mountain views, plenty of seating in the living room, along with original wide plank hardwood floors throughout. The Tavern Room has been hosting travelers since 1780. Enjoy our fully-equipped kitchen with with seating for 6 or enjoy dinner on patio overlooking the creek & mountains. You'll have plenty of room to relax and unwind on 9 private acres. The space A bit of history first. You can feel the history, you know many have come before you. This home was built orignally as an Inn in 1780, just two years before the Declaration of Independence was signed. During that time George Washinton was a General in the Continental Army, the American Revolutionary War. We have been told this was the only road at the time heading north, George Washington and his Army road past this home several times. The Land, The properity gives you a true feeling of open space, from the sun rising over the East mountain, to the mid-day sun dancing across the historic Clove Creek. The birds flying threw the East meadow over looking the mountains, a view to enjoy all day. This is a place to unwind, lesson to nature and enjoy. We have set aside space for you to sit outside alone or the room to have family & friends around a table or by a roaring fire. This place is about taking a moment, hear the birds, letting your mind enjoy the sound of the wind, marvels in the beauty of the 100+ year old pines. This home is old Hudson Valley, when time moved a bit slower and you enjoyed the long days and cool nights just a little more. The Home, is all about space and a sence of ease. From family and friends to rest and relaxation. There are several indoor and outdoor sitting areas, three large seprate lawns, the south lawn is where a volleyball / badminton is set up. From morning coffee in the sun drenche family living room or outdoors in the screeded in pavilion, to sunset cocktails on the patio at the 1780 Farmhouse. You will not disappoint by the view at any point in the day. Step out the homes historic front door, pass threw the gate and down a private road to an almost seamingly private New York State public hiking trails. This road is so far off the rador the trails are almost private to you.
