Granddaddy’s Christmas Farmhouse
Take a step back in time and reminisce with family and friends in this cozy mountain farmhouse. This 1940 homestead has been in my family for four generations and was built by my Great Granddaddy Shook. Our farmhouse features 2 BR and 1 BA. We are located off a quaint country road, only 1/2 a mile from Lake Chatuge and surrounded by the Blue Ridge mountains A lot of love has been put in this restoration and now it’s time for your family to make memories of your own. The space Our space is very unique. In addition to the main house we also offer a cozy Guest House/ Game room. It’s a great get away to read a book, or use as a hang out for the kids. We currently do not have central heat and air in the “Guest house but do offer a fan for cooling and a space heater to warm up. ( the main house does have two mini splits for heating and air) The guest house also features a checker/chest table, cards, puzzles and board games We also have a rock fire pit and roasting sticks for hot dogs and s’mores. (We do not provide the firewood but Can be purchased at Ingles and Walmart which are both close by.) Next to the fire pit is the pond that is fed by our clear mountain spring. You can enjoy the sound of water running down the mountain side over the rocks and you might even spot a few fish. Oh and I can’t forget the horseshoe pit.. who says a little competition is a bad thing!! We are nestled in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in saying that cell service is limited but we do offer high speed internet to keep you connected with wifi calling / internet.
