Are you looking for a different type of stay? Welcome to Pleasant Hill, located in the historic Solar Hill neighborhood of Bristol, Virginia. Once the home of Captain James Wood, and then famous local historian Bud Phillips, the current owners have curated a stay that allows you to step back into 1872 (but with some modern touches). Stay somewhere that sets itself apart from all the other “gray walls with a splash of color” stays. Make your stay historic! The space If you enjoy period dramas, this is the stay for you! Imagine having tea in the formal parlor, like you might have seen in your favorite show. Then, go stream your favorite period drama on the 55 inch tv. Are you staying with friends but you like a warmer / cooler sleeping environment from your fellow travelers? Each bedroom is individually climate controlled for guests’ comfort. Guests who book have the entire house. Including two full baths, 3 beautiful bedrooms (1 queen and 1 full) two parlors, a formal dinning room, full kitchen, and wonderful lounge for work or watching TV. Wifi is free and ready for signing in. Utilize the Culligan water cooler for a refreshing glass of water after taking in Rhythm & Roots, or hot water for a quick cup of tea during the cooler seasons! There is private parking behind the house, with a wonderful back yard, luxurious front porch for enjoying beautiful days and city views! Or walk down town to Black Bird Bakery, The Country Music Museum, Paramount Theatre or our favorite brewery Michael Waltrips Brewery. Guest access Guests will have a coded access to the back door, and a skeleton key for the front door. It is a historic stay after all. Other things to note Pricing starts at 2 guests, and then increases by $100 per additional guests. Please plan your travel time to us to where your arrival is between 1pm and 3pm. We can accommodate later check-ins only up to 9pm, if informed on day of checkin or prior to. We cannot accommodate any check-ins later than 9pm.
