As lovers of antique New England architecture, we have retained as many of its original interior details as possible. The doorknobs are brass, but tend to be a little hard to turn. In our climate, houses shift and move with the dramatic changes in temperature from one season to the next, so sometimes the doors are a little tight and sometimes a little loose. But they all close and function. Much of the original woodwork is in need of refinishing. The walls are made of original horse-hair plaster over laths and therefore have lots of imperfections. The linoleum in the kitchen is old and is currently covering original hardwood floors which are being refinished in the near future. If you're looking for a modern, luxury experience, we are likely not the location for you.
