Get away from the craziness. Great high speed internet for remote work. Only 5.4 miles from Pleasant Mountain ski and Snowboard resort formerly Shawnee Peak. The space Welcome to our Bridgton Bungalow Cottage and Guest House at The Denmark Stage Stop House! Our Guest House is a studio-style cottage with 1 Queen Bed and couch that converts to 2 twin beds allowing for no more than 4 people. Our cottage is similar to hotel room in that there is no kitchen but unlike a hotel we provide ample appliances allowing you to cook full meals for everyone in your party. We provide a gas grill with a side burner on your private deck, which has outdoor seating. Inside you have a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (both auto drip and French Press), griddle, toaster oven, blender and an over-the-top Shark Foodi, which is just like an Instant Pot only better. If you are not familiar with Instant Pot's they allow you to slow cook, bake, sear, air fry, pressure cooker and more. The cottage is fully equipped with plenty of dishware, glassware, utensils, etc. The Bungalow Cottage has a large bathroom that just underwent a remodel where we added cabinets, a very large sind and a granite countertop but for those of you already familiar with us we kept that antique clawfoot tub everyone loves so much! Beyond the private deck you have a yard all to yourselves for relaxing and play with a comfy tufted hammock. This is a stand-alone guest house with parking directly adjacent to your cottage. We have heat for the summer months and yes, we have air conditioning for your comfort on those hot summer days. The Denmark Stage Stop House, which includes this cottage, is located on a 7-acre equestrian estate where we may have some visiting horses for summer as we no longer have our own. The grounds consist of 7 acres of fields and pastures which you may access to take a stroll by yourself, with your traveling companion(s) including your four-legged best friend and family member. We are dog-friendly!!! We hope to have our yard fenced this summer for your dog, provided we can find someone to do the job. We are keeping our fingers crossed. While we are definitely DOG FRIENDLY we have one very strict rule that we expect everyone to respect. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED ON FURNITURE OR BEDDING - EVER!! Please realize we have other travelers that visit that have sensitivities and allergies to dog hair and their dander so we have to be considerate to all. All dogs must be leashed when outside and on the property. While Covid is not the threat it once was, we realize it is still very much a concern and we have continued our Covid cleaning practices to protect our guests and our staff. You can be assured every surface is cleaned and sanitized properly to kill the COVID-19 virus along with any other bacteria and viruses. We also take our guests' safety very seriously too, therefore there is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector along with a gas detector. Please note none of these are to be deactivated or have the battery removed at any time unless you have created an alert for cooking and after silencing the alarm(s) please replace. Sometimes in the cottage the alarm will sound due to steam from the bathroom from showers, etc. We have great WiFi, strong enough for those working remotely. We are also open to those wanting longer stays allowing them to work and vacation simultaneously. We have had many past guests that did just that and had no problems with online meetings or work requirements. I worked remotely from here for 4 years with no issues with the exception of the rare outage by our provider Spectrum, which we have no control over. We offer very comfortable bedding and your beds will be made up with very high-quality bed linens upon your arrival, so if you arrive late you can jump right into bed to get a full night's sleep before you start your busy day the next morning feeling rested and ready for adventure and fun. We also offer plenty of high-quality towels but do suggest you bring your own beach towels as our towels should not leave the property and are not suitable for beach fun. Our cottage offers many unexpected extras for our guests' comfort such as heated toilet seat, heated towel rack, Fire TV that works with Alexa. Alexa is provided as well with Unlimited Amazon Music and Sirius XM on the higher quality speakers and even a speaker that you may take outside on the deck or yard with you. If you don't like Alexa no problem – just unplug her. Our newest extra is a Robot Vacuum named “Dustin” so keeping the floors free of sand and whatever gets tracked in couldn’t be easier - just ask “Dustin” to do his job. Please feel free to ask us any questions anytime and if you are interested in a longer term stay up to 3 months – let's talk. We are surrounded by so many things as we are located in Maine's Lake Region. There are numerous lakes and ponds, hiking trails, Pleasant Mountiain (Shawnee Peak) Ski and Snowboard Resort is only 5.4 miles away. For Travel Nurses and Traveling Healthcare workers coming to the area we are only 6 miles from the Bridgton Hospital with many other area hospitals within driving distance. Traveling Healthcare workers can see more on FF and others. We offer discounted pricing for traveling professionals here for an extended stay. Guest access The Bungalow Cottage is a stand alone cottage completely separate from the main house, with its own entrance, large private bath, private yard and deck. The Bungalow Cottage has a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishware, glassware and some cookware. As mentioned above the private deck and yard has a gas grill with a side burner. Other things to note If you are a guest visiting us in the winter months, it is important that your car be winter ready with good tires with sufficient tread that allow you traction in the snow and ice. We want you to enjoy your vacation and be safe. You need either snow tires or all weather tires. During the winter months we do our best to keep our driveways plowed but please be aware in the event of a large snowstorm or blizzard we can only do so when it is safe for us to plow as well. We will get you plowed out as quickly as possible but during large storms this could be delayed somewhat but we certainly hope not. We have added Amazon Echo and Alexa to all our units to act as your personal concierge. She will even start the robot vacuum if you ask her to. Alexa is now able to answer most any question you may have during your stay - forgot the WiFi password - just ask Alexa! Simply ask Alexa to open the Cottage Guest Guide for answers to all your questions. We no longer keep a copy of our Guidebook in our accommodations due to Covid 19 and the constant touching that entails. Please do not hesitate to ask me to email you a pdf of our guidebook upon request so you may have it available as you travel the area. Our Bungalow Cottage living space is all on one floor, however there are 3 steps at both the front and back doors and our clawfoot tub may be difficult for those with ambulatory issues to get in and out of with ease. If you have included your four legged family member in your vacation please do not forget to leave the $50.00 pet cleaning fee on the table in cash or check prior to your departure. Video Surveillance cameras monitor the exterior of our property, please be assured there are NO INTERIOR SECURITY CAMERAS in any of our properties. For those guests that wish to bring along their boat and trailer to enjoy the many lakes and ponds in the area, we have ample space available to park your boat and trailer and of course there is NO additional charge for this service. The same is true during the winter months for our guests that are snowmobiling - give us a heads up though as to how many so we can make sure we have cleared enough snow for you. We have outdoor games for the family available - may not be suitable during the snowy months unless you really like the cold. Croquet Horseshoes Jazzminton Kan-Jam Frisbee Just let us know which games you need. Two night minimum stay required. Three night minimum stay on holiday weekends. We provide streaming cable channels on YouTube TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and more. Please do not change our accounts to your own as it takes some effort to convince Netflix and Amazon to switch it back to ours and this is also for your security as well, so guests may not charge movies to your account if you have not secured your account. If you do change our accounts to your own there is a $25.00 service fee for having to contact the provider and being on hold forever! We take your safety (and ours) seriously. For this reason we make sure we have WORKING smoke and CO detectors and fire extinguishers in all of our rentals. DO NOT REMOVE BATTERIES in any of our smoke and CO detectors - they are there for your protection but cannot protect you if you remove the batteries. If you have a false alarm you can easily twist off the detector and set it outside and it will stop but be sure to put back in place - thanks! Although there is not a true "kitchen" in the Bungalow Cottage there is an outdoor gas grill with single side burner during the non-snow months. Inside you have a microwave, Ninja Cooking System for slow cooking, searing, sautéing, steaming and even baking, coffee maker (we supply the coffee - regular & decaf), tea and hot chocolate, toaster, single burner induction cooker and a waffle pancake/waffle maker (we supply the mix for you). This is a big one to note - PLEASE be respectful of our housekeeper as she works very hard!! Cleaning after your departure should only entail the usual, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, bathroom cleaning, restocking, making beds and all that good stuff. It IS NOT my housekeepers job to clean up after you! If you spill food or anything it is your job to clean up your mess, not my housekeepers. If you track in all kinds of dirt and dog hair, etc. there is a vacuum, broom, mop - whatever you need to clean up your mess. Please don't leave as many bags of trash as you possibly can inside because there is a trash can right outside the backdoor. I know this does not apply to 99% of our guests and we appreciate that but if you are the 1% clean up after yourselves please! I hate it when my housekeeper calls me crying, which has happened in the past.
